These next few weeks will certainly give Veleno, Rasmountain, BearGrinn , etc opportunity to shine.

Steve: Why didn't you hire your old pal Gallant for the head coaching position a few years ago? I must be honest - I feel for Sens Dman Zub...He didn't deserve that crosscheck...I mean I get where Perron's heart is at, but that was f-ing brutal and he'll earn every game of the upcoming suspension.

I understand last season was Lalonde's 1st as a head coach so I gave him a pass...This season though there appears to be similar issues regarding lack of preparation and execution...In laymans terms - this team has periods where they look lost and it's costing them. You'd think a guy like Yzerman who won under Bowman would want someone who's more capable behind the bench.

Giving up leads is an entire team plus coaching staff problem.

Yup - the continuing trend of being pals with the players doesn't seem to work well in many cases...I seem to recall reading where the Flames locked Sutter out of the dressing room at home games while he was coaching there...How are they playing these days? Same goes for Tronna since Babs was shown the door. WE don't necessarily need a Bowman, or as Babcock, but something certainly more than what we had with Blashill and now Lalonde. Accountability for crappy/indifferent play...Starting late and allowing for a rival to score early goals and/or allowing a rival back into the game due to sloppy play is something coaches need to focus on..Sharks coach Quinn pulled their goalie and called a time out...THey won...Lalonde?

What would Scotty Bowman do?

By adding Kane you'd think there's some serious consideration on Yzerman's part in wanting to make the playoffs this spring...Not sure that'll happen if Lalonde is still around.

What about Alain Vigneault - what's he been up to these days? I know former netminder Robin Lehner thinks highly of him...

Lalonde is Blashill part deux...While the roster has improved - the coaching has not.

I'd feel better if Lalonde were a mouth-breathing-lunatic who berated players when they play like monkey dung.

Agreed. Contracts don't get terminated for trivial crap - the NHLPA would likely have a field day had it not involved a teammate and/or a family member...For things to end so abruptly I'm sticking with the idea Perry tasted the forbidden fruit.

I honestly doubt anything specific would be released, but you know damn well that sumthin went down on the mom's trip for this to take place.
