great article on callahan: http://redwingscentral.com/stories/2010_09/17_Callahan.php i certainly want him in the organization and to be able to watch him as a red wing some day.

i always suspected martin lapointe. i have no basis for this other than i remember reading about how (when on the wings - i haven't followed him much after he left) he used to be able to lift a ridiculous amount of weight in the weight-room. plus he always seemed to blow up on the ice. again, i have no other basis for this other than how strong he was made out to be and his short temper. but that could be a lot of players in the league. but that also could mean..
-
he hasn't been here that long but it's hard to imagine the red wings being coached by anybody other than mike babcock, and i wouldn't pick anybody else over him.
-
is this referring to chelios? oh, yes, i see that it is.
-
a better question might be, is robyn regehr really worthy of a toy?
-
yeah that sums it up. eventually age catches up and you have to accept that in that business. most people who get older in their jobs don't have the luxury of making hundreds of thousands of dollars AFTER a pay-cut. he isn't 40 yet, which is well below the retirement age, but hopefully he invested his money wisely and at the least can land a job with the wings (seems inevitable with anybody associated with the team who has an interest) in some department (scouting, player development, etc.) that would pay quite well. he'll be fine. and we'll have someone on our 4th line who is in the mood to stir things up like he used to.

i was surprised (and still delighted) at this at first, but then when i looked at his career i saw that he spent most of it detroit. for some reason i was thinking st. louis or new jersey. i'm glad, though, even with the ill feelings he had with bowman and babcock he thinks fondly of his time here. i certainly think fondly of him.

howard, i dunno. but check out crosby. this position proves he is minus a sack.

i don't know how you could improve on the concept of his old helmet, paying tribute to both motown with the car and gauges, and the wing's legends as the gauge numbers. i just think that's brilliant.
