I'm tired of it too, jimmy. i hate our organizations use of the word "grit." it's like the south's use of the word. just a bowl full of buttery mush. we can't have ONE guy on this team that is mean? "oh, we're team tough." bulls***. only the power rangers were team tough (yeah a POWER RANGERS reference, that's how mad i am). jimmy's getting frustrated and we don't know yet how he plays when frustrated. he shouldn't be fighting a team battle.

i think there's a small chance he gets suspended for this. but i think the fact that kesler got up and tried to fight him will actually help. if he was laying on the ice in a pool of blood then they'd find a way to suspend him. if he does get suspended for this... well i just don't know. "he got him with a kronwallian poke-check!" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

didn't watch the game but watched the replays. that is such a ridiculous quote. "If you're going to hit guys like that, you're going to have to drop the gloves." he turned with the puck with his head down, got destroyed, and kronwall is responsible for fighting him? no. kesler got embarrassed and was still embarrassed when he made that stupid quote. i'll tell you what, though. howard's getting pissed. teams are running him like crazy knowing nobody's going to rough them up afterwards. that's gotta change, and i wonder if he plays a part in us finally getting some MEAN players.

i think actual french people get a bad rap. my wife and i went to paris and central france for our honeymoon and everyone we met was gracious and accommodating (except for one lady working at a museum information booth who was annoyed that we had a question ). one lady showed us how to sneak through the metro gates and another person actually paid our fare when our debit card wouldn't work. we don't speak french, we just learned the basic "hi i don't speak french, do you speak english?" and i think just starting out a conversation like that went a long way. and there was english everywhere, and most people spoke it well and didn't mind. i remember some high-up dope wanted to de-anglicize the word "email" and change it to "le courrier," but the people wouldn't have it. that said, i have not heard one nice thing about french canadiens, and i wonder if they would be so gracious. i would love to visit the area just for the history but it's what i hear about the people keeping me away. can you imagine the upheaval if the US banned all other languages and made english the official language? and what's more, french people can't stand french canadiens.

don't be silly. of course personally i think it would be untasteful if you were to be wearing certain jerseys (claude lemieux... and to a lesser extent, tie domi and sidney crosby). i would say "who gives a crap?," but as those monsters in L.A. proved, you have to be careful.
