is exactly my reaction.

so, where in the holy hell does that linesman come from at the :07 mark?? does kane keep one in his back pocket for occasions like this?
-
probably something generic made by whoever made that video. i tried using SoundHound on it but it didn't pick up anything, most likely because it's nothing professional and because there is a lot of talking mixed in.
-
oh i didn't even register that it was brendan smith at the camp as well. that's great! i think brendan is doing all of the right things and will be great for a long time.
-
my least favorite line i'm sure kostopolous really learned his lesson last year from our powerplay.
-
i'll throw my hat in with the group that doesn't like the player, but doesn't wish him ill-will either. i think even if he does come back he won't be the same player. he'll have to limit his physical play and will be wary of going into the corners - ask brad stuart about that. the rest of the players in the league certainly won't take it easy on him. and what happens if he has another concussion? how long will they keep him out then? what exactly is wrong with you?
-
if you check his fighting card he's won quite a lot of fights, though. good to see mccollum at this camp. gary roberts does not mess around with his training.
-
yeah that one. though i also liked it when they plugged mccarty in there when yzerman got hurt. that line had everything (except speed, i guess). and of course kozlov - fedorov - larionov and the rest of the russian bunch were fun to watch. and i've liked most 4th lines. that's the type of hockey i like to watch - physical and full throttle.

people might be fooled into thinking he plays a physical, tough game by the amount of PIMs he's compiled. but it's all mental breakdowns and stupid retaliatory penalties. he seems like the exact opposite kind of person the team wants or needs.
-
that's when you know you've made it.
-
he definitely needs a *****-eyeing.
-
both, duh. 2 v 5 if we can't afford anybody else.

i've been to the joe only a few times while growing up in michigan. too expensive (for me) and a bit of a drive. i was lucky enough to see the maple leafs play in the old maple leaf garden and that was an experience for sure - probably the best. i saw the wings play chicago in chicago's new stadium and wasn't impressed with the building, but the atmosphere was rocking of course. i've gone to many games at the RBC center in raleigh, which is about 30 miles from where i live now. the fans are actually quite knowledgeable of the game (many northern transplants, of course) and they can get into it. the last game i saw there was against the wings and i had seats 2 back from the wings bench. the faithful were out in full force and we dominated the atmosphere in that game, though we did lose. fun as hell and oh hai, there's me on the left with the camera..

eh we've already got a very accomplished penalty shot failer in patty eaves. we'd have to give emmerton to the lightning in order for this to happen, right? i suppose it's not impossible if he impresses the staff more than cory in training camp. he does seem to play the style of game that babpenis likes. i don't think it can be ruled out as the staff really do what they preach when they say they'll take the best players out of camp.

i bet it's bertuzzi since The Great Bobble Head Rivalry of 2011 with dan cleary has been picking up momentum. plus bert is old. he may never get one again.
-
shoulda been! along with the thomas holmstrom inspired Mighty Morphin Mush Mouth Ranger

my guess is it's gimmicky swill.
-
probably not. to be honest i haven't seen him play much but i can't see him buying into babcock's system as he seems to be all offense. not that hudler is known for his defensive hustle but you probably know how the majority of us feel about him here. he's got something to prove coming in and so did dan cleary, but cleary completely changed his game around and can fabian do that? i don't know. i'm sure after playing with a strictly defensive team like dallas he wants to come to where he can possess the puck more (though we did resort to a more dump-and-chase game last year). he has to understand that both sides of the ice are important and work his tail off. he didn't work his tail off to get to this league, but he paid his dues in toronto's farm system and, as far as i know, didn't threaten to bolt back to europe like some players have in our own system. i'm interested to see what he does in camp.

that's gotta be worth a cool $7.

i feel bad for smith. he is great in interviews saying 'yeah my goal is to make the team but if i spend another year in grand rapids that's fine, too.' but you know inside he is going mental. i want to see this kid play really bad, and i hate that he's just getting older in GR as he has proven that he is NHL ready. on the other hand i want commodore's attitude and toughness in the lineup, and with the *shudders* imminent departure of our captain he will get more ice-time in the future than he would now, and he can log a ton in GR gaining experience and honing his defensive skills. of course this has all been said to death.

here's another angle of the brian campbell hit:
-
man, i want ericsson to play more physical than he has as well, but those two examples are so lame (not blaming you, just jonathan). he had to hit the first guy because he was in the way, and then he just nudges a guy 5 inches shorter than him to the ice. i want to see some more nastiness around the crease.

Bleacher Report 50 Best Announcers/Personalities in Hockey History

that would be interesting. it all comes down to chemistry. i like kenny and mick's interplay. not sure how gary would respond to the mickeyisms. i don't know whether to cry or wind my watch.. -

you can't have gary thorne and bill cement-head together like that. one's a top-notch PBP, and the other tries really hard to do interesting color commentary by saying ridiculous things like "beautimus maximus." -
ooh a lines thread!
