what is this, soviet russia??

other than the puck possession love he can get here, i can't imagine he wouldn't go to the pens. it seems like it would be a finger to mario and the city. not those fingers.

what's all the love for brooks laich?

dude got a wild tattoo on his back? that's a bit silly. hope for his skin's sake his career doesn't turn out like mike sillinge's.

i have mixed feelings on signing jagr. i wish he could just come to our training camp and show us that he deserves a spot. i do think the agent's pitch is pretty funny. almost like an onion article. 'agent feels his aging player would be a great fit for a team who signs aging players.'

omg that dude was so mad his balls exploded.

haha, that is awesome. sort of like a post-apocalyptic version of this one:

there's more to that than just his skill. he requested a trade from edmonton, didn't get picked up on waivers, and so was sent down after he was told not to attend training camp. he does have defensive issues and injury problems, but he is good offensively and plays mean. still, i don't think this would be a good signing. oldish with a declining body and a questionable attitude - edmonton assigned him to hershey so as not to spread his bad juju to the oilers prospects FCS.

i think a wiz signing could be like the stuart signing, but with more offensive upside and even more added punch. i really hope this deal gets done. surely he wants out of montreal and i bet he's got an yzerman and/or lidstrom jersey in his closet somewhere. who hasn't taken penalties at frustrating time? dude doesn't really take that many.

i guess it depends on when he said it. if it was right after the game and he didn't know about his back, that's a lot different than a recent quote when the results were made public. when did he say this? incidentally, what is the crowd chanting there?

this now gives vancouver motivation for game 7, like boston has had for most of the series due to vancouver's shenanigans, which is unfortunate for me because i am now a bruins bandwagon supporter. i don't see any shenanigans in this hit. it was just awkward and unfortunate.

go bruuuishs.... go brechhhh... go bruuuikkk.... i hope the canucks lose.

i'm a huge fan of ansar khan and i am very excited to see that he likes wiz as a replacement for rafalski. SOLD

the key ingredient was krupp.

i would love to have a guy like that in our system. i'm tired of kolosov being our best option for a big, mean, stay-at-homer.

Latest Rumor: NHL Team Expected to Announce Rebranding in 2012
sputman replied to Hockey13Playa's topic in General
+1 because i completely disagree with this post and think it's ridiculous that somebody gave it a negative because they disagree with it as well. this is why i hate the negative option. obviously there are worst team names "of all time." anyways, so southern nhl team? so i guess that would include los angeles, anaheim, phoenix, dallas, nashville, carolina, tampa bay, and the panthers. funny i always thought of san jose as being a southern nhl team, though in that case i guess you'd have to include colorado and st. louis. los angeles - they've changed colors a few times, but with the gretzky influence i can't see them ever being anything other than the "kings." anaheim - have already shed the "mighty" nonsense. changed logos many times. successful franchise, can't see why they'd keep changing at this point. phoenix - they've already successfully rebranded, cosmetically at least. they've not been that bad as a franchise so i don't see why an upheaval is necessary. i can see how with the talk the last few years of them relocating they'd want to solidify the team as something more substantial, so the "arizona coyotes" doesn't seem too far fetched. dallas - even though they haven't been that successful the last few years, i can't imagine they'd change much with their history of winning. nashville - silly, bucktoothed logo - though i personally like their colors (especially the yellow ones, i can't explain it). they've got a decent fan-base i can't imagine a complete rebranding would create a positive response. maybe a different logo with some color variations. but i think the name stays, for bette or worse. carolina - i moved down to the chapel hill area in 2004 and have seen many hurricane games. the fan-base is actually quite strong and intelligent. a good deal of the fans are old, relocated "whale" fans, or relocated northerners who love to watch hockey and know the game well. and there are some locals who have caught on as well. they've won a cup, their merch sells, they aren't going to change anything. tampa bay - does yzerman pull a gretzky and give the lightning a more polished, professional brand? personally, i've always disliked the lightning's colors and logo. but, they've won with it. i don't think it's part of stevie's personality to shake things up. panthers - if the rumor is true, it's the panthers.
