I agree. It was a clean hit and guys are fighting for a spot/ice time. Yet at the same time Phanuef is a lock and is not fighting for a roster spot. I just think some of these hits where the guys are off balance and have their heads down are where a lot of injuries take place. -
I am a little dismayed that Ty was unable to stay. I guess this is Howards chance.

Preseason vs Postseason. Big difference. Do you think the kid knows about paying attention? He does not have a lot of experience at the NHL level under his belt. Of course, someone will come back and say, hey, bet he will know to pay attention from now on. -

Hit was uncalled for in a preseason game especially since the kid had his head down. Celine Dion should go backed off. Hope the kid has a speedy recovery. -
Do not see the Wings losing this one unless the goalies are horrific. Will be an interesting game.

Welcome to the forum. But remember we are also familiar with J-Willy's style of play as he played for the Wings in the past. Maybe he has changed. Who knows. But 2 preseason games is not enough for me to go by. As you did mention Bert. I hope he regains some of his past spark, but if he doesn't I will be the 1st to throw him off the train.
