Rationale for starting this thread is the recent thread that was created here http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=62388 With that being said, what is your own personal take on Babcock; is he one of the elite coaches in the NHL, will he be here for a long time, and does he have a great rapport with the players/media?

Who are you referencing to? I liked the fact Bert was here and I even welcomed him back with a "Bert and Ernie" avatar and a "welcome back bert" Seems like you do not even know what your talking about, so maybe you need to pull your head out.

AO, Crosby, and Malkin are still effecitve by themselves. As for Leino, different story. And it is not an endless discussion as Leino can not be compared to AO in any fashion.

I will add a little bit on my own person feelings. 1. Babcock is on the better coaches in the NHL 2. He will be here for a very long time; maybe longer than Scotty Bowman if he wants to stay 3. Babcock has an excellent rapport with players and the medio; more sore than Dave Lewis

He was still drafted by an NHL team, unless you think other teams do not know how to draft when comparing how the Wings draft I expected a lot more out of Boyd, yet look at the end result.

I do wish Leino was not on this team, there are other players who actually work harder and have less skill. Boyd was drafted 6th overall and was raved over at one time. Also, he won a gold medal @ the World Juniors in 97.
