We won last 3 Cups playing in white home and I liked them better. Otherwise as for the play, I don't think it matters a lot if it is gonna be this way or the other.

His problem isn't that it isn't playoff at the moment. IMO he was the biggest disappointment and the worst player on the Czech National Team during Winter Olympics 2006 in Torino - there was playoff. He's simply slowed down, become less useful and productive and overall less interested in the game.

Wings say they are gritty enough for playoff grind
Mila replied to HockeyCrazy3033's topic in General
I believe that our team looks more balanced and thougher for playoffs now than it did last season. Our team is a very serious cup contender this year. -
He's nothing special offensivelly and he takes bad penalties all the way, creating unnecessary chances for the opposing team to score on the PP. Can anyone imagine us playing with him against San Jose? They burried us on their PP this season.
-
Firing a coach 3 games in front of the playoffs is a way too risky.

We can play also without Kronwall, unless another D-man gets injured it should not harm as much. As for his performance this year, I think that signing of such huge contract was a part of his below expectations play this year and it didn't bring anything positive for him except $$$. Maybe he would have played better without having being awarded with such contract. I'm sure he can play better than he's showed up to now.

Most of the mentioned memorable players have already gone and they were above average paid players in the era with no salary cap. One could complain the Wings have just "bought" good players and won the cup. It would be nice to win the Stanley Cup also in the era with the salary cap, more equal economic chances of all teams and playing with many different players on the Wings roster.

Anyone who claims 119$ for that is nuts.

I don't mind Quincey playing the rest of the regular season in favour of Lidstrom's health and readiness for the playoff. I guess Quincey will be solid.
-
Lebda can enjoy more PP ictime now. I'm sure he'll not disappoint.
-
If he's doubtful, better let him out one or two more games and bring him in when he's fully healthy for playoff games.

Our shootout team Dats-Willy-Zett functioned pretty well last year. Willy is gone, Zett has been injured. That means that our other shootout players like Bertuzzi or Cleary are not as suitable for it. Although Bertuzzi is a very usefel player that we needed, shootout isn't form him. It requires more technical players with skillful hand and creativity - Filpulla, Hudler, I wouldn't mind awarding shootout attempts also to Lebda.

This thread was a bad joke attempt.

How fast is Chelli in comparison with Lilja ?
-
Time for Lilja!

Couldn't be told better. There's no doubt Lidstrom's #5 will be retired and hanging from the rafters.
-
I think it's normal that refs are to blame when someone losts especially to his rival
-
If Babcock benches Hudler or Filpula in favour of some other less useful players, which I'm afraid of, there wouldn't be any better way to demotivate both kids more. Better trade them than burry them such way.

Who's Sarich? Where's Markov?
-
Grigorenko in, Lang out next season. More performance for less money.

It's nice to read something like that about Flipper - ironically a player who is not far from being benched during the play-offs in favor for some other less useful players on the Red Wings roster - by this I don't want to re-open the already discussed thread "who's the 13th forward ..."
-
I wonder that someone did not metion he has experience (gold medals ...) as a reason to prefer him better than Flipper or Huds.
-
Yeah, Sammy's wristers and his shooting 6,98 % are really deadly for the Wings. Hudls has 15,96 % and Flipper 13,70 %

What makes you think: 1) Hannan is available after the season? (He's 28 years old, such players are not yet UFA) 2) Shark will let him walk?
