I wouldn't expect anything less out of the Sharks you'd think after so many years of getting beat in the playoffs they would just learn to work hard and win on that but I guess they will never learn they continue to think they can win on flopping around. Bunch of pantyhose wearing sissies. LA on the other hand should know better but they prolly got sick of Sharks acting a fool and returned the favor.

former Red Wings stars join rec-leaguers for game
fixxxer replied to Hockey13Playa's topic in General
Wow that would be pretty amazing to see all them join up for a beer league. Bet they all had a blast I'm a little jealous. -
I would play any of our scratched forwards instead of Cleary.

Soon as I saw Abs hit that guy it took me an instant of a second to know a game misconduct and a suspension bone head check coming in at that speed and the way Lydman was positioned towards Abs. Yes the league is inconsistent but I think they were right on this one big hits can still happen just keep away from people heads its not rocket science. I'm even more flabbergasted by the amount of blind fans who can't admit a spade is a spade. Wings have more important things to focus on and this suspension is the least of it.

Yeah as someone else said he shouldn't have lifted his skate and just skated through, but I like players driving hard to the net wish our players did it more often. Abby had a great one against this team. I hate Perry with a passion but nothing to get pissed over was just a hockey play. fixed typo

haha exacally what I was thinking.

I firmly believe the Holland seriously miss the boat to ease this transition from losing vets and bringing up the young players. Smith w/o a doubt should have been playing an entire season with Lidstrom the fact that he didn't I have to question upper managements decisions flat out loss opportunity. Tatar and Nyquist should be playing a lot more with Dats last year as well even this year. Instead Holland idly sits back and rides this sinking ship to the bottom of the ocean. I seriously don't know what he's thinking. There have been a lot of miss opportunities to give our young guys more exposure and more experience. Instead they are all inevitably going to be all brought up at the same time. This attitude to let rookies sit in the minors and overripe is no longer an option it wasn't an option for the past few years and now its going to bite us in the ass. The amount of mentoring and learning from the vets are disappearing and the biggest one was Lidstrom. I'm no longer an Holland fan but more on the fence watching with suspect eyes. If he's the GM we all thought he was he's gotta be able to be a good GM even when s*** hits the fan and so far he's not doing so well.

I can confirm this. lol Its okay though because Holland "likes the team as is" per every year.

I wouldn't spent 1 cent on acquiring Perry let some other team throw away their cap space for him. Rather wait longer until something worth going after is available and Perry is not that player.
-
This line I can't even comprehend how it was a good idea even given the injuries. Forcing square pegs into a circle is a bad idea.

Did I miss the butt love day for Perry the fairy? Since when have Red Wings fans had a hard on for this ****** bag? It would be a sad day to see him in the red and white lets hope it never happens.

Oh in that case ya reddit is stupid. Thanks for clarifying that.

trying to catch the game tonight any ideas if so pm me pls. Couldn't use drumnj's site chat somethings is wrong with my java update. -
Personally I feel like boycotting the red wings doesn't make sense as Ilitch at least from the small rumors doesn't already align with Bettmen but there isn't much that can be done including other owners who are are also successful like Ilitch who also doesn't agree with Bettman. Its a two sided sword that the fans just get bent over and screwed over. We can only hope (or at least I can hope) that these small market teams lose so much money that they will finally either moved or close down. I hope for the latter a smaller more productive league is better for the fans. These poor desision making small market teams hold all the power and keep Bettmen doing what he does making it as profitable a league as he can pretty much for the best interest for middle of the road and bad market teams. The tier teams will make more money at the expense of losing being able to ice great teams. The ability to go out and spend disappears so whats the difference for a player to go anywhere other than the fact that team x happens to have more cap space that year. Mediocracy is all we will most likely get out of the NHL so that more owners can be more profitable. Unfortunatly as Red Wings fans we lose.
-
I may be mistaken but I think the reason was because they had the power to scrap it and the fact that the owners just came up with it w/o consulting the PA. Probalby aslo a PR move to say that they wasn't just going to lay down and take whatever the owners wanted.
-
IMO none of the above are classified in my definition of a "pure goal scorer" Hossa is the closest thing we've ever had. Lately I think the wings have been too focused on getting an entire team of two way players. We don't have much variety.

Ya the league going to a lock out thats great news!

Well that certainly wasn't very good news

The Ever-Increasing Cap, Ridiculous Contracts, and Hitting
fixxxer replied to zenway9's topic in General
Will these contracts really be that inflated if the cap continues to rise? It may seem over priced contracts now but will it really when the cap reaches 80mil? It will only look bad if the cap lowers or remains the same over the next 5-10yrs. -
I really believe that Doan isn't going anywhere unless he finds bad news by July 9th about his club. Even then I always thought that Doan didn't really care for the wings, however I could be misinterpreting that. I also have a hard time believing that we will trade for Nash. As dumb as Columbus' GM is he won't trade to division rivals unless its retardedly lopsided even then he may not take it see the islanders 1-7th picks for columbus' 1st pick. The problem with missing out on Suter and going the trade route is that is going to really cut into our prospects. We went from getting players to fill in for free to now having to give up future or current players. Should be intereseting rest of the year to say the least. Also waiting out on Weber I don't really see Nash giving him away very easily as well after loosing Suter. Plus after Webers antics last playoffs he can go F himself.
