Official 2016 Detroit Red Wings Offseason Thread
Son of a Wing replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I assume you're talking about the 5-1 and 8-2 games? He also happened to have hat tricks in those games. That's WHY the games were so lopsided. lol But you keep trying to convince yourself of whatever crap you're trying to convince yourself of... -

Schenn is signed. That's my bad. Dumba's signing was literally just announced now. Regardless, my point still stands. It's not unusual or out of the ordinary for high profile RFAs to take a while to sign. -

Not really... lots of excellent RFAs are still unsigned. Gaudreau, Monahan, B. Schenn, Barrie, Nichushkin, Ristolainen, Ceci, Dumba, Lindholm, Strome, Kucherov... In fact... it's completely normal. -

Overblown? It's not even a real rumour... Just a couple guys in a forum making stuff up.... -
I guess the question is... How good is Calle Jarnkrok? 57 points and a +10 in 167 regular season games. 3 points and a -7 in 20 playoff games. 24 years old Center and is 5'11" 186 lbs. In my opinion he's one of those players who doesn't excel at any one thing. Combine that with the fact that he's undersized and he will struggle to find a true role on his team. Good depth player who can add some offense.

Are Nyquist and Pulkkinen studs too? Because there placements are right in the same area.

Wings file for abitration with Peter Mrazek
Son of a Wing replied to derblaueClaus's topic in General
4.5M would be at the very minimum. 4.5-5.5M. Mrazek will make much more than Vasilevskiy, as he should. He's played over twice as many games and has far superior stats in every category. -

Agreed. Both with the roster as it is I think it's the most likely scenario. There is no way Sproul or Ouellet would get waived before Frk. -

Frk and Pulkkinen are nowhere near comparables in terms of numbers in the AHL. 121 Points in 119 Games 68 Points in 149 Games You can guess who's who. We're not waiving one of Sproul/Ouellet/Marchenko to keep Frk as a 14th forward... -

Well if that's you're reasoning with Frk, then it should carry through to the defence. Ouellet, Sproul, and Jensen will all be on the roster with that thinking. After all...they have all proven more than Frickin Frk. -

Helm was a decent signing. What trade did Holland refuse to give up Nyquist for? -

Also you're skewing the numbers. 17F vs 5D for initial roster counts? lol If you're including Frk, you have to include Ouellet and others... -

You really think Frk is going to make the team over AA, Mantha or Nosek? -
Holland and the draft team earn the benefit of the doubt here. Some of you guys go a little crazy on the tiny snippets written about these players when we've never even seen them play.

Great trade

Yup...because I said that's all we needed this off-season... Quit manipulating other peoples statements to fit what you want to argue about. Also Nielsen would have led our team in scoring this year. But call him a depth player all you want... -

If you can't sign helm to a decent deal (south of 3mil) then maybe have a look at Nielsen as a replacement. It would cost a little more, but would be worth it. -
Wings hire John Torchetti as 2nd Assistant

Awesome. Now let's focus on the draft and free agents. -
The Wings request permission to interview Todd Richards

I don't think he's a bad coach but I definitely wouldn't hire him as a special teams guy... LINK -

You're stating that like it's a lot... He's played almost entirely for one team. Just one half season before he was traded very early in his career. How is this a negative? In fact that's below average in terms of a player's movement over 400 games. -

Absolutely he did. Ironically in that same segment the other hosts actually called him out on air to whether any of the information he was talking about (not just Datsyuk) had any truth to it whatsoever and whether they were just creating stories during a slow time. Because that's what Friedman does. Something eventually sticks.
