He's been named to Team Canada's final evaluation camp for the World Juniors. Hope he makes the team!

I record every game the wings play on my computer. Is there anyway to share these with people on LGW? Im not all that savvy with FTP stuff and setting up an upload. Anyone interested or wanna help please feel free to give your input.

Did frankgrimes write that? -
I can also back Sweetwater Tavern as I have been there before the last two games I've been to. Haven't had the wings though. It is very small and narrow so get there early or you'll be standing at the entrance for 30 min.

Yeah I remember a while back when he was first talking about the book coming out, he was answering some Shanahan questions and his answers were pretty telling. I think a lot of it goes back to labor relations and such.

Weiss is the only player in the league with a 100% shooting percentage. Let's keep that going! Totally sustainable... -
Let me get this straight...you think Ovechkin is engaged in a fight in videos 2(Nash) and 4(Chara) that you posted?

I really hate the Flyers. Ok mostly Ed Snider... Let's embarrass em. 5-0! -
Bruce Garrioch ✔ @SunGarrioch Follow Can confirm @DarrenDreger report that Daniel Alfredsson retirement is expected to be announced Dec. 4 in Ottawa. #Sens 8:02 PM - 25 Nov 2014

Well you're kind of skewing statistics. Weiss has averaged 2 shots/game and Datsyuk 2.5 shots/game since 2009 Over a full season that would put them at over 160 and 200 shots each.

Do we need a trade to get our offence going ?

But guys...if we can snag Kopecky then obviously Hossa is going to demand a trade back here... -

Bring em home Kenny! -
He was actually doing the heart for his wife in the crowd. I was at that game.

It's really sad. Great man. One of my dad's best stories was when he said he tried to fight Quinn and Quinn literally just put his hand on my dad's head and held him at arms length. All he said was... "eeeeeeasy Rick". Speaking of... anyone know of good sources for vintage NHL film/tapes/recordings. 60s and 70s

Go Wings go As far as Pierre McGuire is concerned...his greatest strength can be his greatest weakness and it's nothing to do with his physical appearance. His passion for the game is unrivaled in broadcasting but man does he get just downright gitty over some players and teams. It can get cringe-worthy and to the point the players just look weirded out at times. I actually like the guy, just wish he would tone it down sometimes. -
I feel there's a big misconception on the type of player Mantha is. I keep hearing "power forward" and "Shanahan-type" brought up in regards to him. I'm guessing because of his size. While he's got a big frame, he's not much of an aggressive player. He uses his frame and extensive reach to protect the puck very well and has a cannon of a shot. High high potential for this kid but not of the power forward variety.

I like the idea of it just being at the end of the season. It just feels hollow at the end of every game. Players show their thanks by volunteering and donating time and money to people who need it. Much like the comparison to buttons and stickers to show your pride. Its fairly hollow in my opinion. If you're proud and thankful give back by volunteering your time (or money if you have it) to benefit what it is you're thankful for.

Well it has been labelled the "generation of entitlement" lol

Some people don't appreciate the cold in Canada... This is from today. Highly recommended for a good laugh.

The culture has already changed a great deal and will no doubt have to be the main catalyst for the removal of fighting. Those scenarios will always be more frequent in hockey than other sports because of the speed, physicality and ability to inflict large amounts of damage at any time. The pitcher in baseball throwing his ball at players is not even a close comparison. Absolutely and it's the best hockey there is. Like I said before. I'm just curious how certain situations would play out.
-
Its definitely going that way and I don't want to make it seem like I'm "pro-fighting". I'm definitely "anti-enforcer". I'm just curious how certain scenarios would play out... Your team is fighting for a playoff spot and a guy on the other team (also playing for playoff spot) viciously runs your star player from behind and knocks him out cold. I don't see the victimized team doing nothing. So they punch him in the head with the gloves on? Start swinging sticks? There is no comparable major sport where you can inflict a large amount of damage with a weapon at any time against an unsuspecting player. Again I'm not pro-anything. I just don't think it's that simple of an issue.

What would you suggest? Larger fines? Longer suspensions? Kind of getting off topic... Yay Smith and Ericcson

Hindsight is 20/20. Foligno was starting to take liberties against our players in an already decided game. Smith stepped up to defend himself and in doing so took himself and Foligno off the ice for a good deal of time. Had Smith not stepped up, Foligno could have continued taking shots at guys and possibly injured someone else. Now I'm not saying fighting some how makes players afraid to take cheap shots. But it does take those guys out of the game.
