That's why us Canadians are so friendly...we're just drunk all the time...

Ya I would have liked one more healthy run, but I appreciate his honesty and unwillingness to come back unless feeling 100%.

I don't think so. Opinions are like ass holes. Everyone has one.

Or the Bees. Nicolas Cage HATES bees.

Had to read that a couple time before I got the joke.

Has anyone ever been to an All Star Game weekend and is it a fun environment? Better yet... Is it worth the price? From what I've found it's around $400 min (nosebleed seats) for the game and skills comp or $250 for just the game. I've never looked into going before and was pretty astounded by the prices for a nothing game. It's in Columbus Jan 24/25. So anybody been to one before and what was your experience?
-
No and that's fine. I'd rather they rest anyways. lol The main reason I was curious was I went to game at Nationwide last weekend when they played the Sharks and got reminded the all-star game was there. Figured...hey that might fun....went online and saw the prices and was blown away. So was hoping someone had some insight on the whole experience. If it even is much of an experience...

Yeah I think I understand know why no ones been...lol

We actually GAINED a roster spot...

Last year: "Holland's an idiot! Best players should play regardless of waiver exemptions!" This Year: "Holland's an idiot! We lost someone for nothing on waivers!" Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

I like what Maurice has done in his time there. He's had a big impact on that team. I'd say they're middle of the pack but in the lower half. LGW! 4-2 with an empty netter

Most people hadn't even heard of Nestrasil a year ago and now he has all this "potential" and mentioning him in the same breath as Pulkkinen and other prospects. Gimme a break...

Jets are better than you think this year.... 6-2-2 in their last ten and tied with us for points

Potential can be intoxicating...

Dekeyser already plays on the PP a ton. We need more then two defencemen logging PP time. It won't be Quincey/Ericsson/Lashoff that's for sure. Smith it is. Or hopefully Ouellet...

I don't know if it's fair to say that Lashoff is "worse" than Kindl. I mean sure at some things but they have almost completely opposite skill sets. If we could only combine them into one player frankenstein-style..... Kindlashoff....
-
Kindl is exactly the opposite of a "Mike Babcock-type" player. Especially a defenceman. Soft, doesn't use his size, weak along the boards, inconsistent, prone to defensive lapses... That's not to say Kindl doesn't have some talent. He's an NHLer, but will most likely find more success in a different system. Hopefully this equals more PP time for Smith. He got a taste of some last game.

Las Vegas rumored to get an expansion team

I get this weird feeling you have a bias...lol -
Ever notice it's always the negative news that brings people back to LGW? When we're winning or just cruising along this site is pretty bare but us regulars. Then someone gets injured or we go on a losing streak and all of a sudden people are coming out of the wood works.

I'm not arguing against depth. We have that in spades and Hicketts helps further diversify our prospect pool. Also, we're already in a position where we're going to have to trade a defence prospect or two (or three) in the next year or so. All five of Marchenko, Backman, Jensen, Ouellet and Sproul will have to pass through waivers following next season. That's already way too many prospects graduating at the same time at the same position. Adding another one (with no higher ceiling) doesn't get us much further ahead. I'm not saying Hicketts is necessarily more promising, but it's something we don't have a lot of. Boom or bust type.
