I've always liked Bauer skates for how they fit my feet. Aside from my pants, everything below the waist I like tight and snug. Especially my ankles...lots of tape... Loose, light, small shoulder pads. I also like to have the palms of my gloves worn through a bit. lol Unfortunately I have to wear a cage as I lost a bunch of my front teeth years ago and really don't want to go through that again... especially out of my own pockets. Crowns aren't cheap.... Easton S19 stick. Probably a little longer than normal as I'm predominantly a defenceman.

I don't really get the elimination of the 'Spin-O-Rama' move... They're obviously keeping the shootout for entertainment purposes but getting rid of one of the more entertaining moves? Is it gimmicky? Yes. But so is the whole concept of a shootout to decide a hockey game.

Best just to stay out of these threads krsmith17. It's not worth it...

We get it Kip... -
No I don't think you're putting him down. Just hesitant to classify him as a budding star. And that's completely fair considering he's just coming out of junior. A lot of factors will go into the development of this kid... can't wait to see the result.

I don't expect any of them to make the team out of camp either. They will give both Kindl and Lashoff an opportunity to be in the top 6 throughout the first 10-20 games. That's the Red Wing way and I fully expect that. The only way that changes is if someone truly surpasses expectations and blows them out of the water or severely underperforms. They've made large personal and financial commitments to their roster players and they're going to give them more than a fair shot. If they blow it, then fine. But they'll get their fair shot.
-
Then how can they "be incorporated quicker" if this season hasn't even started yet. The defence will get worked in this year. If they don't at all, then I'll probably upset as well. It just seems a lot of people are jumping the gun on things that haven't even happened yet...
-
Incorporate them quicker? How many rookies could we afford to have in the line-up last season? You don't rush goalies and you don't rush defensemen. Quincey's a stopgap. He may not have not been the best guy on the market but at least he stays healthy, can log minutes and isn't signed for 7 years. *Washes hands and mouth with soap after speaking well of Quincey.

You make some great points and hit the nail on the head in terms of how elite players usually excel in the CHL right from years 1-2. What I think you're forgetting (or just not mentioning) is how rare it is for a player of his size to do it. A lot of the players who put up a lot of points in their later years are quite often undersized players who eventually learn how to be more effective. Their success just doesn't translate as well once they hit pro and play against men. Doesn't he have a really late birthday though? I remember in his draft year he was almost a full year older than most other high draft picks. It can make a big difference at that age.

Absolutely. It's about getting a job. Plain and simple. I would think that would be clear as day...but judging by the comments above, I'm obviously mistaken.

Sorry he's not Wayne Gretzky.... It was merely pointing out he exceeded expectations. Which he did, and was named to the All-star team. What exactly were you expecting?

Frank I don't even know what to say in response to you sometimes but I can't resist... The Bruins are not being "punished" for success or having a great goal scorer. They legally evaded the cap and deferred their bonuses to this year by choice. I suggest you do some research there... So in your opinion... To attract free agents...we need to not do well...draft high...get some good young players...even though you just claimed no one knows how young players will ever turn out...or was that just relevant for our current prospects...whatever benefits your argument at the time I guess... OK. Where...in Zeus' butthole...did you come up with this idea...and in what universe did that make sense... PS. I may have had a drink... -

You keep saying he has to move on but you haven't listed a single possible solution/alternative that's available that would benefit us. -
Hockey Summit: NHL News is an absolutely fantastic android app that conglomerates NHL news from hundreds of sources online. You can filter to receive just news on certain teams or from certain sites if you like. Updates information immediately. I can't say enough good things about it. Also follows your favourite team and has HD highlights and video.

What's absolutely amazed me over the years is how the NHL has completely failed to properly market and promote a player like Datsyuk. These highlight-type videos always brings this issue to mind for me. I get that he's Russian and that's not "ideal" for a North American audience but my god.... he is worth the price of admission alone.

I miss having someone like this in the lineup... Here's hoping Glendening and/or Callahan can develop into an impact hitter.
-
So you really don't get the concept gaining someone's trust and how that works.... Forget hockey...just in general. It's a fairly primitive concept. Or how putting a young person through adversity, and having them overcome obstacles, helps build them to be a better person.

On the third line.... You're welcome to check the boxscores and gameday lineups and stats and facts etc.
