For sure and so does Garrison. They might be able to be convinced its the best thing for their careers though. -
2014 Offseason League Signings and Trades
Son of a Wing replied to Datsyukian-Deke's topic in General
I could see something like this... Tatar Ouellet 15th overall pick Weiss FOR Kesler Garrison Swapping of bloated contracts (Weiss, Garrison) to fill positions of need for both teams. -
Not really... If anything it shows you don't rely on UFAs to build your team. They're complimentary pieces. Not 'the answer".
-
We signed two of the biggest UFAs last year...
-
Right...so none of those teams have "cap issues". Lots of space and bodies to work with. The point is they all have the flexibility to sign a big FA or make a move or two.
-
What??? Rangers, Canadiens and Maple Leafs have more cap space then we do...

Buffalo has stated they'd be willing to absorb some bloated contracts....at a price... I can't imagine Philly thinks they would get a positive return. It seems Hextall is finally going to inject some logic and restraint into this franchise. -
Alfie informs Wings he wants to return
Son of a Wing replied to TheDetroitRedWings's topic in General
With the salary, term and recent injury history it was a risk...and yes there were other suitors... My point was Holland does take gambles. Just not the ones all fans want. -
Thankfully we have a whole thread devoted to this breaking news...

I always feel confident in my opinion when posters like Richdg, DeGraa55, Leftwinger and frankgrimes have such a unified front of the exact opposite opinion. You guys are too predictable... -
The Selke is definitely the biggest toss up. All three are very deserving. I'd say Bergeron because I think he truly personifies a dominant defensive forward the most.

Tyler Bertuzzi and Zach Nastasiuk have been selected for Team Canada's summer development camp. Made it over some decent other prospects. LINK

Tatar needs to stop talking to the media... So....what does everyone think Tatar believes is a fair salary?? -
Hartnell to Columbus for Umberger + 4th in 2015
Son of a Wing replied to StayClassy's topic in General
Don't know if I'd want Hartnell on the books for another 5 seasons. He's already slow as molasses and with his style of game, he's going to continue to decline at a decent rate. I think it's more fair than people are making it out to be. -
Glendening and Helm have the same value?? Pulkkinen is about to replace Jurco?? Ummm no.
-
You're always such a ray of sunshine. I know I know...you're a realist...
-
Why?? That would give us 16 forwards. 17 with Alfie. Cut the damn fat.

Avalanche are taking Ryan O'Reilly to club-selected arbitration

and signing a bloated offer sheet with a conference rival just screams "integrity, honesty and respect for relationships"... -

Avalanche are taking Ryan O'Reilly to club-selected arbitration
Son of a Wing replied to frankgrimes's topic in General
Just to be clear...ROR isn't getting paid 6.5 million because he is worth that. He got that because Feaster tried his best to screw Colorado and make it an undesirable contract. It was backloaded so his minimum qualifying offer has to be at least 6.5 million. Colorado is doing their best to correct the situation. Which makes complete sense. -

They offer-sheeted themselves? They may have accepted the deal but it's not like they had many options... ROR knew the risks and possible consequences of future negotiations when he signed that offer sheet. This is the fallout...
