I still can't believe Halak is on the bench... -
You expect fans to be outraged on where the Wings vacation?? They're not 16 year old kids travelling abroad. They're grown men. Treat them as such.

Thought I'd bring this up again as Athanasiou was just named the OHL's player of the week for the second time. He's now at GP-53 G-41 A-39 P-80. 4th in league scoring. LINK

Come on man. You come out with a controversial statement like that in a thread that is already overly sensitive and then claim that someone else's comment might spin the thread of the rails? -

I don't think that's true at all. Do people say Canada or Sweden or Russia are maybe better? Sure, but that's not discrediting the US. They're all great teams. Everyone I have discussions with think US has a hell of a team with some of the best goaltending in the tournament. Top 3 for sure. The majority just don't think they're the best team. *All this "majority" talk is kind of silly though because what I encounter in my day-to-day life is obviously different than someone else. It's all very subjective. -

Leftwinger - If there's something we can definitely agree on, it's that rooting for our national team makes us all pretty sensitive people. -

How many essay-length posts are we going to see detailing "Canada's easy match-ups" and "American's score sooo much more!" It's getting old and it screams of insecurity. Let's see some elimination games and then we can all chirp if our teams eliminate each other. -

Finland has won a medal in 4 of the last 5 Olympics. No other country can claim that. Maybe people should stop underestimating them... -

Our confidence in team Canada has nothing to do with our "rich history" and some belief of "we'll win because we've always been good". Don't know where you've heard that. We're confident because, on paper, we have by far the best overall team. Hands down. No question. How that translates to on-ice success is another story. -
Games are streamed online as well. US- NBCOlympics.com - must authenticate that you have cable/dish though Ca- CBC.ca

Ha that's what I was thinking. Laying a nice foundation of excuses to fall back on. I personally can't wait to see some of the top teams finally facing each other. US/Russia is going to be a great game despite it's start time. -

lol Again..all I said was the US has not faced a medal contender yet.... That's not comparing anything. It's a statement. -

Huh? I didn't compare the teams and the US hasn't even played Russia yet. lol None of the top teams have played each other. So this whole "Will be interesting to see how Canada fairs against an actual medal contender." could be said for anyone.... But hey it's popular to hate on the favorites. -

It'll be interesting to see how the US fairs against an actual medal contender as well. Seeing as they haven't played one either....lol Also playing weaker teams off the start is not an advantage for a team like Canada. If anything it's the opposite. -
Exactly. I agree with every single word of this.
-
It used to. Not anymore. lol I just assume a lot of the people making fools of themselves are kids. Then they start talking about "their" employees and I cringe. lol Anyways...I'll wait to hear official word from Detroit doctors before I make assumptions and conclusions and never will I "write off" this season.

I think there's a deal that could be done here but it would never involve Dekeyser or Bogosian. Dekeyser because he CHOSE to play here as a highly coveted FA. 0% chance we trade him just for that reason, let alone others. Bogosian just signed a huge 7 year contract with a full NMC. If they're trading anyone of value off the back-end it's Byfuglien or Stuart. They've publicly stated Bogosian is a core/building block for them. I would have interest in Byfuglien and/or Stuart for the right price.

Should've saved that for a person it's actually relevant for. Not Kip.

Just so it's clear, he didn't herniate a new disc of even re-injure the previous one. It's become inflamed and is uncomfortable so he's resting it a bit. That's all.
