The whole interview rubbed me the wrong way. Some pretty serious accusations with absolutely nothing to back up or to explain any of his positions.

What's wrong with Pasha? (Mod warning post #57)
Son of a Wing replied to matthewdanna's topic in General
My gut says Glendening sits or goes down, Andersson goes back to 4th line center, Nyquist switches to Helm/Alfie line, Z moves to wing and Dats centers top line. That gives us 3 solid scoring lines. -

lol Just trying to bring some positivity back to the boards. This place has been imploding recently. -

I have this great feeling Pavel will come back refreshed and ready, dominate at the Olympics for a medal and come back with his confidence at an all time high and lead us into the post season. -
No Weiss is center. We need an experienced goal scoring winger.

Babcock just announced on HockeyCentral that he's been told Datsyuk will return for Thursday. -
So what do we call the 26 - 15 - 21 line?

If you have to explain it, it's too complicated. lol Trust me I had a couple other ones. haha -
Well that's just bizarre... Some bold statements.from Fetisov. “I think this guy did it on purpose, the limo driver" "But the most thing that pissed off is the position of the team" He said he was told..."Not team event" by the Red Wings. Was ticked off at the Wings’ response to the crash, which Scillian said affected Konstantinov’s long-term health coverage. "The guys who fights for this cup, like it's his last chance. You know Vladimeer" "I still try to understand why. Why is this kid, who I knew since he was 14 years old, why did this guy get in a situation like that. I still can't find the answer"

Kindl not representing Czech Republic @ Olympics

So Sobotka now can't play. Who do they replace him with?? Hudler? Vrbata? Nope. Martin Erat. I really hope this team get embarrassed. Their selection is a joke. -

Catholic Crusaders. As I understand it, they are all fairly religious and are Catholic. -

Hypothetical: What Coach Would You Replace Babcock With?
Son of a Wing replied to cnot19's topic in General
I don't think people believe Blashill is the best coach out there but more that he's best for the job. He's had the fortune of leading our next generation of Wings to a championship and is very familiar with our players. That's all on top of the fact that he's an absolute class act and very "Babcockian". Babcock>Tippett>Blashill (For this next generation of Wings) -
That's too funny. I see they really went all out on the bands. LOL Might have been a good lineup 30-40 years ago. I suppose they are trying to appeal to the senior sunbirds with money so it makes sense.

Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?
Son of a Wing replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
Colorado is STACKED at center with Duchene, O'Reilly, Statsny, MacKinnon, Talbot and Mitchell. They've publicly stated they're pursuing a big winger or a proven left handed D. -
So they think the people from the rest of the state are going to fill the seats? NHL teams rely heavily on ticket sales. I just don't see how this solves anything.
-
That was before the league went through a major financial shift. Plus they've got Heatley's 7.5 mil contract coming off the books at season's end. I have no doubt Minnesota will be a cap team and a contender as that's the promise they made to Suter and Parise.

Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?
Son of a Wing replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
Trade values seem to be pretty off around here. Let's look at last season's deadline while remembering the picks from that draft were worth much more. Price for a proven top 6 forward: Pominville + 4th = 1st, 2nd, Hackett, Larsson Gaborik + depth = Brassard, Moore, Dorsett, 6th Jagr = 2nd, Payne, McDermid Roy = 2nd, Connauton Clowe = 2nd, 2nd, 3rd Iginla = 1st, Hanowski, Agostino Morrow, 3rd = Morrow, 5th Proven defencemen Bouwmeester = 1st, 4th, Berra, Cundari Regehr - 2nd, 2nd Leopold = 2nd, 5th Murray = 2nd, 2nd -

No way we're sellers now. We are currently in the playoffs should be fresh and healthy after the Olympics. I say we do something low risk. Pursue a guy like Smyth or maybe a guy like Sarich. Late pick for a motivated vet. -
Yup could be earning the spot or spreading the scoring around or injuries or line matchups, or linemates and chemistry or stupid things he said to the press last year or he's struggling with his father's health/death. Frankly I would believe any one of those before I believe Babcock would irrationally hate a player and possibly put that before his team.
-
Abdelkader, Miller, Glendening and Eaves were literally our best defensive forwards playing last game. It's not all about creating offensive chances. It's about limiting defensive chances just as much.
-
Abby plays top line all the time. Does that mean he's held in higher regard than Alfie?? No. It's about roles and spreading out the scoring between three lines.
-
Right because what coach would make a young player fight through some adversity and actually earn his spot. It's as if our coach knows a bit about psychology....weird...

I read elsewhere Montreal turned down a Parenteau for Bourque trade. If I was Montreal, I would have taken that.
