Canada looks like a bunch of individual egos all trying to do it themselves. They have all tournament. Really disappointing.

Dan Cleary?

Did Dave Brandon prevent the NHL from holding the attendance record?

To be fair, I'm not sure it's the best setting for a pregnant person. lol -
I definitely disagree.
-
Carlson, Faulk and Fowler are all very well rounded, top two defencemen. Each one of them lead their respective teams in total ice time among D. Heavy penalty kill minutes as well.

Dave Brandon wasn't even mentioned in that article. Are you just speculating? -
If they lose/unload Miller than they'll be going with Enroth for sure. They have one of the deepest group of goalie prospects in the league with Hackett, Makarov and Ullmark.

I'd like Edler for the right price but I wouldn't put much credence in those rumours. Fansided sourcing The Fourth Period who sources the Ottawa Sun who really didn't report anything new to begin with: Sigh...

You can't be serious...I've never had a coach who didn't throw f-bombs like that. Quite the norm.

I bet he goes back down because of the cap but returns for the playoffs. But who knows with injuries. -
It was a seafood restaurant.

Has there ever been a fight in women's hockey where the helmet and gloves actually come off? No, Semin doesn't count. lol

I'm not so sure. Kindl is far and above the softest defenceman we have, not to mention he's probably the weakest at actual defence. If Deke can effectively replace him on the PP, then I don't really see much of a need for him. -
Oh if it were only that simple... lol

How so? I'm guessing you didn't read the article...

There goes my hopes..... Link

Yeah....again it has nothing to do with fighting. It's how hitting and aggressive play has an effect on the opposition.

1. So what is peaking if not the best year of your career? 2. You brought up career average numbers of guys like Howe, Beliveau and Esposito to somehow prove it is all decline for Steen for the rest of his career. Love to hear how that's relevant to Steen. 3. The difference between 27 and 29 is not as great as you think. lol 4. But Steen is not being compensated as a point per game player. lol His contract is very in line with what his career average is. 5. Yup. Again, it's a short term deal at what the going rate for a 50 point guy will be for the next few years. Whether it's his peak or not it's a very fair deal for everyone. Don't see what the big deal is.

I was more referring to the fact that they're an aggressive team who's tough to play against. Team toughness. You don't have to be a goon to be "big and bad". edit - I thought this discussion was centered around "big and bad" players and how they're aggressive style can have an impact on games. Not goons or fighting.
-
Sure if you ignore that players do peak at different stages in their careers and just average them all out. Players are a case-by-case study. Peaks range widely. Just ask Tim Thomas. But this discussion is about Steen and I think it's obvious he's peaking now. Thus a three year deal is great for both sides. I don't think St Louis fears a 10-20% dropoff. lol

2013 Getzlaf, Perry, Penner, Beauchemin, Allen, Maroon, Jackman, Fistric, Yonkman, Steckel Tougher than most that's for sure.
-
Interesting...no suspension. They felt the last second turn attributed largely to the result of the hit. I actually like Shanny's explanation.
-
That might be a relevant analysis if it was done in the current era. Not with players such as Howe, Esposito and Beliveau. lol

Right, but I don't see how this contract is inflated at all. Especially with the cap rising as much as it's supposed to. He's a .6 points/game and just entering his prime. If you guys think this contract is inflated then I look forward to your reactions to this and next off-seasons.
