I understand where you're coming from but I do think a 50-60 point guy is worth about the 5.5m mark with the cap rising. He will actually be much closer to 2 mil less than Datsyuk. Considering Steen is just entering his prime and Datsyuk is past his I'd say it's completely fair.
-
I don't think that's a fair comparison at all. Steen has always been known for his offensive talents and has nearly double the amount of points of Clarkson while being the same age.
-
You really think this is comparable to the Kronwall hit? That in itself would explain why you see such an inconsistency. lol
-
Must have missed all those "massive hits" we've been a victim of. Any evidence to back that up? No, listing injuries doesn't count. People seem to somehow forget we're a puck possession team. If we're out there chasing guys, making big hits, then that means we don't have the puck. It's no coincidence many of the teams who lead in hits, are the worst in puck possession.

Blatant charge no doubt. Suspension worthy. Schenn needs to be much more aware though. You can't turn into the boards last second. Especially in the corner.
-
He didn't dive or try to sell it. He was off balance. Just an unfortunate play.
-
Good for Tootoo. Hope he makes an impact and sticks around. He provides a dimension we're sorely lacking.
-
They provide a role at times. However this thread is about whether they prevent injuries which people are turning into a anti/pro-enforcer thread.
-
OK wait a minute....you don't get to bring up hit ratio stats to back up your statement and then claim "quantity of hits don't mean anything."

Can't remember the last time we were this pathetic

I just think the team would rather be in the position to choose to play them in the top 6 rather than have to. -
I think it's quite the opposite. From everything I've read the majority seem to think he's going to be a career 4th liner. 3rd line max. He's going to surprise people. He is not a dynamic player but he does play the right way, is a big body, plays hard and is a good two-way player.

Is it that surprising we signed too much depth after all the inuries (most in the league) we had last year? Not to mention guys familiar with our system who have had success here in the past. It's a long season. Plugs (Cleary,Sammy) will plug holes in our lineup as injuries/life occurs but I'm confident the right guys will play come playoffs. Just like they did last year. -
2 threads about enforcers. Its official. Its mid-season for the Red Wings. This happens every......single......year...... lol

Gotta love LGW during the rough times. It's as if 90% of you completely forget last season. -
Just great stuff.

Ok...so? Everyone has an opinion. Still four and a half years left and he isn't going anywhere. You may have been right about the first half-mile but there's still four and a half miles left.
-
Huh? His best years were all after that tragedy. He hadn't even cracked 90 points before and put up back to back 100 point seasons after the incident. His career highlights were in Ottawa.
-
I don't really see why that's funny unless you take joy in the disappointment of others. lol
-
There's an entire forum dedicated to trade/free agent talk as well as a lines thread. This trade doesn't make sense for either team cap-wise or personnel-wise.
-
And this comment contributes what exactly? lol The discussion of Franzen's buyout stipulations was on topic and then kinda went off the rails. Regardless I think it was shown that the benefit of keeping him far outweighs any penalties or trade scenarios. Above all this off-season I'd just like to see us add a top 2 defenceman. Will probably cost a decent amount but we have strong depth of the farm.

Sorry, I was actually just referring to how you SpellTeamNamesWithNoSpaces and don't acknowledge anyone who brings it up. lol

Wrong. Right.

Nah, I bet (and hope) he resigns for around 1.8-2m. I don't see Mrazek riding the bench for 50 games. Besides what's the rush with him??

Well it is written by a high school student who has Howard on his fantasy team.
