I blame Babcock almost just as much. By the sound of things it was Babcock's doing to bring Cleary back. If it wasn't for that we wouldn't be here today. Even with the Sammy signing.

I don't put much faith in corsi numbers when it's such a small sample size and doesn't even factor in things like zone starts. I think they're number picking here to help their position. If you're going to use advanced stats than you better be prepared to factor in everything and have a decent sample size. I love Tatar but he has to get better without the puck. There's a reason he rarely is on the ice for face-offs in our own end.

Khan wrote an article today about it.

Not sure about which part? Forwards:Z,D,Alf, Fran, Weiss, Sam, Clear, Helm, Bert, Mill, And, Abd, Nyq, Tat Defence: Kron, Eric, Deke, Kindl, Smith, Quin, Lash Goalie: How, Gus That's 23 and through the relief from sending Tootoo(925k) and Eaves(925k) to minors (worst case) and relief from LTIR we are easily under the cap.

I thought Franzen looked pretty good. Nice to see him show some emotion and look engaged in the game. Point is he was very noticeable when on the ice. He wasn't just floating around like he's known to do at times. Helm's improving but kind of a square block in a round hole in that position. Even in that article Babcock stresses Helm is not a second line center. I think we all know that though. Alfie has never been an issue and has easily been our 3rd best forward this year. We NEED Weiss performing in that second line center position. It will be a huge factor in our success. I believe he's as much an X factor as Franzen is for this team.

Waiving Tootoo AND Eaves is enough to bring Nyquist up. 23 man roster and cap compliant.

What Did Pierre McGuire Want from Henrik Zetterberg?
Son of a Wing replied to Dabura's topic in General
I don't think it was ever a huge thing. Everyone had their laugh about it and shrugged it off as Pierre being Pierre. He's known for being overzealous and not quite knowing his place. I just don't get the whole conspiracy theory "what was he REALLY doing?!?!" I think it's obvious it was for an interview at a bad time. End of story. -
No there was never a deal. They were sued for using his name, nickname, number and "likeness" to sell products. They had an unauthorized facebook page as well that was selling these products. Link

What Did Pierre McGuire Want from Henrik Zetterberg?
Son of a Wing replied to Dabura's topic in General
I picture an old spice commercial. lol Considering Pierre is putting in his ear piece as he's asking Zetterberg, I'd say it's definitely for an interview. I also don't really understand the article nor it's fascination with unearthing "what really happened". Trying hard to create something out of nothing. -
He had successful surgery today to have a metal rod inserted. According to Bob Mckenzie he is not ruled out of the Olympics as 3 months is the optimistic recovery time and Olympic hockey doesn't start for over 90 days. It's all going to depend on how the recovery goes and whether Yzerman/Stamkos want to risk his health as well as Tampa's chances post-Olympics.

I don't consider Nyquist a "fast" player like that of Helm, Mackinnon, Grabner. He doesn't have close to that top end speed. What he does have is great "quickness" which is more attributed to great acceleration and quick feet. Agreed that they do share the other characteristics you mentioned.

gdt 11/12 GDT : Jets 3 at Red Wings 2 (SO)
Son of a Wing replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Definitely read this in the voice of Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze. hahaha "Ice to see you!" "Everybody chill!" "I'm afraid my condition has left me cold to your pleas of mercy." "Let's kick some ice!" "If revenge is a dish best served cold, then put on your Sunday finest. It's time to feast! " "What killed the dinosaurs? The Ice Age!" "Allow me to break the ice." "Tonight, hell freezes over!" Ok I'm done. lol -
I saw this in the FAQ on the website. Please refrain from using any profressional team name, team logos or team-style fonts. If the artwork contains any of the above, we won't consider the submission. Judging by that I would assume no deal is in place with the NHL/Red Wings/Players. I would recommend your friend be very careful when using the "likeness" of any player/team. Never like to see an eager entrepreneur run into legal matters off the get-go.

Well I'm a huge fan of Breaking Bad and obviously the Red Wings. Unfortunately not really a fan of this. Neat idea though. Website looks great. The graphic looks like it was done in MS paint though. Also I hope you/your friend did your due diligence and got permission from Zetterberg and the Red Wings. Otherwise THIS could happnen

So in other words..they're completely different. lol

Well he didn't lie about being Cleary's biggest fan. lol Hopefully he's starting to get a little fed up. Detroitredwings.com Article

In what world is your credibility not based on what you do, say and think? That's entirely what you base credibility on.
-
One is a result/bi-product of the other.
-
Sorry guys but on an international stage, "Russian news" lost it's credibility a while ago.
-
My head hurt trying to read this. lol I think I got your overall message. In regards to Franzen, it's keep or buyout. I can't ever see us trading him.
-
It's been a "might" status all along. Nothings been confirmed and Babcock himself has stated it depends on a few factors like Franzen's health. He even said don't spend much time speculating because it could all change tomorrow. Sometimes I think you just like to stir the pot lol

Zetterberg wearing the "C" for Sweden? THN thinks so.
Son of a Wing replied to FireCaptain's topic in General
Sweden is going to be strong. Especially their defence. Its hard to beat an Ekman-Larsson, Karlsson pairing on international ice. Not to mention Brodin, Kronwall, Edler, Hedman, Hjalmarsson, Oduya, and Ericsson. -

For sure I understand that. But he wasn't even on the prelim. roster nor has he been given word yet as far as being on the team. I know it had to do with waivering on retirement but i don't know. Guess I'm bias towards Z. -
