I think the first mistake people make is thinking first rounders are guaranteed impact players. They're not. For the past 10 years we have not picked very high. If you want to say we are not successful at it, at least give a comparable. What team has picked that low for the past decade and has so much more to show for it?

I can't imagine guys of their calibre agreeing to one year deals with a team that's blowing it up. Nobody wanted to sign in Toronto under those circumstances. All they could get on a one year deal was Parenteau and nobody wanted him.

McKee can't even crack a college roster and some people want him on the Wings? It takes alot of skill to crack the NHL. Different types for different roles. Let's not minimize that. It's disrespectful to the entire league. Goons and all.

It would take half the farm and/or multiple first rounders to get a player like OEL if he was ever on the market. That kind of defeats the whole purpose of what we're trying to accomplish here. We'd basically be Arizona without any of the good young players or prospects...

I feel like once they weren't able to go with Knights or Black Knights, they should have went in another direction. Las Vegas Golden Knights is quite a mouthful.

I think you actually bring up a good point here and I agree to an extent. The one thing I do get excited about is seeing our team speed....when the transition game isn't completely off the rails. Also Sproul's slap shot. It's been a while since we've had a shot like that from the point. But those are not worth the price of admission. lol

In gambling it is. Not when talking about people and sports though. Mental status and confidence plays a big role in ability and outcome. I don't see the comparison between playing cards and people.

Let him go for the simple reason he clearly doesn't have a future in this organization. He will only take away top AHL minutes from a developing prospect who may have a future.

Goalie competition is a very positive thing. Having said that...Mrazek needs to show more consistency to take on a larger role. Especially with Howard playing well.
