Not available in Canada...stupid TSN. Could they have picked a worse time to have their site crash?
-
The kid is 22 yrs old and yes is 6'2" 235. And has tons of potential. The fact that you compare him to Hudlers value shows that you've never really watched him play or develop. Or you're just a blatant homer.
-
Hudler has no where near the value that Bernier has. Not even close.
-
Yeah I heard that too. What a joke. Pitts is not that stupid.
-
Are you being serious? You obviously don't watch him without the puck. He is one of the top defensive players on the team and one of the top penalty killers. From mid-January via Bruce Macleod "The shut-down forward has become Johan Franzen. Opponents average less than 1 goal per 60 minutes (tops on the team) of even-strength time with Franzenstein on the ice. (The Red Wings have outscored opponents 15-7 with Franzen out there.) It's not surprising. In Franzen's first season in Detroit, he was clearly the most effective penalty killer among forwards."
-
No but he'll be a solid two-way player who can score around 20 goals a year. Pretty valuable if you ask me, especially at his age.
-
Then why even come in the thread and post? If you're so tired of reading repetitive posts why do it more than you have to? Oh...to let your own frustrations out and annoy everyone else...Thanks.
-
Oh calm down thread police. Some of us don't have the time or patience to read through 60 pages of pure speculation on one player.

Good news for Filpulla fans, bad news for Hossa fans.

Article Link Great article in the National Post via The Montreal Gazette. A bit long but its a nice break from all the trade talk.

Do you really not see that by creating this thread you are just asking for another goalie war? There were plenty of good things said in the GDT where they belong. We don't need threads started every time a player has a good game or proves people wrong just to say "I told ya so".

Article Link This will be a very dark day for the league if this ever happens......

From Bob Mckenzie today:
-
Well that's good news.....for now.....
-
I'm not trying to be a dick or anything but there was a reason a trade deadline thread was made......
-
Ahh good call I did not know that. Being a Leafs fan what do you think it would cost Philly?
-
There's no chance in hell he waives. I know he could be just saying that for the media's sake, but he seems one of the few who seem sincere. Just my opinion. I will absolutely laugh when the trade deadline passes and the leafs still have Sundin, McCabe and the other guys with no-trade clauses. Personally I would keep Kaberle....unless they're offering Carter a first and a top prospect. Then cash in.

As seen on Kuklas Korner via Inside The Kings, Rob Blake doesn’t expect to be back on the ice before the Feb. 26 trade deadline, which could obviously affect his tradeability. He attempted to skate today and it didn’t go well. He is going to have an MRI to check on the ankle’s progress tomorrow and said he won’t try to skate again until next week. from the LA Times, Kings defenseman and captain Rob Blake said today that he has not been asked to waive his no-trade clause by the organization and does not want to do so. “I want to stay here and remain a King,” said the injured Blake, who was at the team’s practice facility in El Segundo. “I stressed that with them and talked about the plans of the Kings and the future. . . . That was it.” via Inside the Kings, On meeting with Lombardi: ``Nothing’s changed on my part. I expressed my feelings to stay here again and kind of do what I wanted to do when I came back here two years ago. That’s not going to change. Hopefully it works out that way. ``He was just saying there are teams inquiring. But there’s been no talk of waiving the no-trade on either side. I think a lot of things you hear are people blowing things out of proportion. I’m not going to respond every time I read something....”

Can someone please tell me why a player agent like Rich Winter has any prominent role in this at all? Or a soon to be retired goalie aka Dom Hasek? Whats the worst thing the league could do when they can't even expand their fan base??? Piss off their current fan base! Brilliant!

Love to see Barnaby get tossed around.

Last player with a 60 goal season was 1995-1996

No team over .500 is "terrible". They have a young team with lots of energy and are exciting to watch. Far from terrible. Sometimes I question how many people here actually watch teams other than Detroit. Anyways I think he'll get around 65-70 while just missing the 70 mark. Utterly amazing in todays NHL.
