Well everybody knows we need a top six forward. There were none really available this offseason and those that were, were overpaid. We'll have a top tier forward come Christmas, we just have to be patient.
-
Well at least you admit when you're beat
-
What exactly is your point? Gretzky was never physical yet he's the best player ever. You're a borderline troll dive fan. Go troll on an Avalanche board. edit. spelling
-
Almost all of their offense? No. But who wouldn't take advantage of the best defenseman in the NHL?
-
It's 3 games into the season......

Ellis deserves to play far more than Downey does. He is a tremendous worker who has worked through our organization and proven that he deserves a shot. Downey has not proven anything as he was just signed as a utility player and has not even played in a regular season game yet. Yes he deserves a shot, but not before Ellis.
-
"He's going to stand up for himself, but we expect him to be a wear-and-tear on the opposition's defensemen," Babcock said. "It isn't a guy that fights that bothers you. It's the guy that keeps (getting physical with) your 'D' all the time that wears you out." Because of that??? I think you're reading what you want to read.

Yeah i agree Anaheim is slower than San Jose. I also agree San jose is close to being a powerhouse. They just need to solidify their defence. edit. Scary thing is how much cap room San Jose still has left and the number of strong young players they have available to deal for a marquee defenceman.

Nice work keep it comin through the season
-
Ummm what? They are definately 2 big teams but who is slow? Thornton? Bernier? Michalek? Clowe?Rissmiller?Mclaren? San jose is big, skilled and fast. The only guys there that would fit that mold are Davison and Murray and both have a very minimal impact. Anaheim you say? Who exactly is big and slow? Big yes, slow? Hardly. They have some tough guys but they are not complete liabilities. There's a reason the didn't play when it counted.
-
One example does not prove a point. The game has evolved very much since then. Big tough slow guys have a minimal impact anymore.
-
You might want to factor in Las Vegas (its gonna happen) and another team (probably Winnipeg). Expansion is coming in the next 5 years.
-
You're right he played a whopping 5 games before they realized he was better eating popcorn in the press box. The point is when the important games come he was a complete non-factor.
-
Ugh I hope we don't have threads like this all season. Like Heaton said you're boarder line trolling. And like BRTD said there IS a middle ground between "essential" and useless". I've been against bringing in an enforcer all off season like many here. That in no way means I'm against fighting. I wish every player on the team could handle his own but it's just not practical and not at the expense of talent. Fighting is a factor just not near as big as some of you make it out to be. It's no surprise who started this thread....

Thanks Kp-Wings I've been waiting for this!

Well with the cap going up for next year and Spezza being a RFA I would say no for him. I would have to think Redden is gone after this year though. Unless he takes a big paycut to stay.
-
haha very nice. I'm thinking 4-2 wings with the empty netter. We will outplay them but the score will remain close. Goals by Franzen, Zetts, Huds and Cleary. Who cares who scores for the Ducks
-
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M Pirsig Great book. I'm reading for a second time and am enjoying it just as much.
-
Great deal. When they lock up Spezza later this year that will give them a dynamic 1-2 punch for years to come.
-
Ok so I've finally gotten around to posting a couple pictures Here's one of me: And one of my dog Trixy:

If it is just going to be for scores though what is the point? There are already many services for mobile phones that provide hockey scores. If you could offer more than just scores though, like up to date links to other articles available via a mobile device or something else unique than I think it could be worth it. I'm just not sure enough people would use it to make it worth while. Only way to find out though is to give it a shot. I say go for it. No harm in delaying the new site a little while.

Just ignore Yzer19. He's always been a troll on these boards. When Yzerman retired he claimed everyone on here and in the media was bashing and disrepecting Yzerman because we were looking forward to the new age Red Wings and how they would do without Yzerman and Shanny. ***** ***** ***** is all he did so now for some reason he's done a complete 360 and just puts down Yzerman every chance he can just for a reaction from people. Don't give him the satisfaction of getting upset. Just ignore him.

Article The one thing that caught my eye was a reference to Lidstrom: Didn't he use that taping the stick line to describe Datsyuk in the other article posted here? Or are quotes just getting mixed up here?
