Three years after the lockout and we still can't remember that there are no option years of any kind allowed in NHL contracts under the new CBA.

Ken Daniels wouldn't be going anywhere. He'd just do Saturday night Hockey Night in Canada broadcasts. Someone else would do the Saturday night Red Wings games, like Matt Shepard (CCHA Hockey play-by-play) or Mario Impemba (has done a couple of CCHA games, would probably only be brought in if Shepard had a committment with U of M basketball). Heck. Mike Emrick does the Devils TV games and all those games for Versus, NBC, and CSTV.

He also could not play during the lockout because the every member league of the IIHF recognizes the suspensions of others. He was not reinstated by the NHL until August 2005, a year and a half suspension.

The NFL Combine is where most of the college seniors and juniors that have declared for the NFL draft all work out in various drills in front of team scouts. Basically a job interview.

I'd trade Hudler and a conditional 2nd round pick to Florida for Bertuzzi and future considerations. The pick would be conditional on games played (with it dropping to the fifth round if he plays no playoff games). The future considerations would be Hudler himself if Bertuzzi plays no playoff games and does not resign with the Wings.
