It's not a restriction on overseas players. It's the age the player enters the Entry Level system. 18-21 3 years 22-23 2 years 24+ 1 year
-
They get two games per series exclusive. Game 1 is exclusive. 5 of the other 6 will be on FSD.

He's not a free agent. He's under contract and the Wings have said they want him back. He played well in the KHL this year, it's not like he took a year off from hockey.
-
He won't be suspended. There was no intent to injure on the play. He's not a repeat offender. There was no injury to the head (which is why it wasn't a game misconduct).

1/16 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Dallas Stars 3 (SO)
PRStoetzer replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
What was that game earlier this week where the exact same thing happened. The referees conferred and overturned the initial call on the ice even though there was not a conclusive replay. -
The referee clearly states that it was called a goal after conferring with the other referees and not because of the review. The ruling on the ice was a goal and there was certainly nothing on the video that could disprove that.

May was not credited with a shot and Auld was not credited with a save on this play. The play officially ended with Abdelkader's shot at 13:56 that was frozen by Auld. Was that the call? That LaRue lost sight of the puck on Abdelkader's shot and that May's shot didn't even happen? http://www.nhl.com/scores/htmlreports/20092010/PL020295.HTM

True, but I don't believe you can send an injured player to the minors. Plus, Helm is traveling to Sweden with the team. Unless they have an exception like they do with Larsson, players assigned to the minors actually have to report to their minor league team.
-
Even so, Helm and Emmerton are on short term IR and thus the Long Term Injury Exemption cannot be used on them.

How is this roster cap-compliant? AUTO-GENERATED CAPGEEK.COM LINES FORWARDS Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) / Johan Franzen ($3.955m) Valtteri Filppula ($3.000m) / Daniel Cleary ($2.800m) / Tomas Holmstrom ($2.250m) Kris Draper ($1.583m) / Jason Williams ($1.500m) / Todd Bertuzzi ($1.500m) Kirk Maltby ($0.883m) / Justin Abdelkader ($0.850m) / Ville Leino ($0.800m) Patrick Eaves ($0.500m) DEFENSEMEN Nicklas Lidstrom ($7.450m) / Brian Rafalski ($6.000m) Brad Stuart ($3.750m) / Niklas Kronwall ($3.000m) Jonathan Ericsson ($0.900m) / Brett Lebda ($0.650m) Derek Meech ($0.483m) GOALTENDERS Chris Osgood ($1.417m) / Daniel Larsson ($0.850m) / Jimmy Howard ($0.717m) CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS ROSTER: 23; PAYROLL: $57.621m; CAP ROOM: $-0.546m BONUSES: $0.275m They are over even without Helm and Emmerton who are only on short-term IR. BTW, Khan says the Wings have a 22 man roster, while MacLeod says 23 with Larsson as the 3rd goaltender.

Pro sports games are blacked out on the RSNs on the Sports Pack. You still need to get Center Ice.

IIHF refuses to grant transfer card to Jiri Hudler
PRStoetzer replied to PRStoetzer's topic in General
If he can't get his transfer card, he may have no choice but to show up in Traverse City on Sept. 13th. -
I still think the best option is for the Red Wings to re-sign him or accept the arbitration award and then allow him to play in the KHL. The Wings can do that. He would remain under contract to the Wings, but would get to make his money in Russia and then come back when he wants to.
-
There is option D. The Red Wings could accept the arbitration award and assign him to Dynamo. The Wings have already done this I believe with a couple of Swedish players (signed them to keep their rights and then assigned them to their home team).
-
Zetterberg was second in 2002-03 and had played in the SEL, so the SEL obviously does not count.

NHL asks IIHF, KHL to negate Hudler's KHL Contract
PRStoetzer replied to Frozen-Man's topic in General
If Hudler knew the KHL was interested (and he says he did for 2 years), then why file for arbitration? -
Chicago is not over the cap by $4 million. They have a ton of bonuses counting toward the upper limit, but you can exceed the cap by up to 7.5% due to bonuses. Of course, they really are screwed next year. If all those bonuses are triggered and the cap drops by $6 million, it's possible that they could have just $3 million to sign 10 players next season
-
Chicago is fine. The have over $5 million in bonuses. They can exceed the cap by 7.5% due to those bonuses, which means their salary cap this year is $61.06 million. Of course, whatever bonuses are triggered will count against the cap next year, which means they are completely f***ed next year.
