One free agent signing isn't going to change the economic climate in SE Michigan. It's still too expensive for the average family here to go to a game. There may be a buzz but it will fade once the season starts. -

Man, I miss that rivalry from back in 91.....Hawks had Chelios, Suter, Roenick, Belfour, and we had.....Stevie Y, Fedorov, Lids, Konstantinov, and Cheveldae....................

I've been staying out of this discussion because D-Mac is one of my favorites. I'd like them to re-sign him, but also Downey, too. Downey to me is the enforcer we need, and Mac the physical checker we need on the third-fourth line, so they both have a role if Drake retires. We need these guys to repeat.

Trying to find out where it's gonna end up this weekend......don't feel like camping out at Hockeytown or Cheli's, but will go there if cup is headed there. I heard a rumor about Ann Arbor but I doubt it. Anybody in the know?
