Nashville submit bid to host NHL All-Star Game 2016-19
Jedi replied to PredsFanTheBayouState's topic in General
Detroit will be on the short list for a future All Star Game, and a Draft, once the new arena is constructed. I'd imagine the Preds will get their shot sooner rather than later. Would be a good chance to expand their fanbase too. -
For the love of all that is good in this world, PLEASE let the Pens hire Pierre McToolGuire as their next GM. That would make my day. Week. Month. Year. Possibly decade...

I'm fine with signing Niskanen, if he can be brought in at the right price. He's the best UFA dman in a pretty thin class, so odds are that his offers will be vastly inflated. At the right price/length I'm sure that most LGW'ers would want him on the roster. But with numbers that are being mentioned (higher than Z's cap hit, in more than one article I've seen), and at a long term deal, I might say pass and move on.

I'd rather read a book on my original Kindle (e-reader) than on my Kindle Fire (tablet). And I'd rather read on my Kindle than an actual physical book. -
Inventor looks to drastically shorten ice resurfacing time

https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/puck-daddy/10-interesting-highlights-nhl-cba-054912422--nhl.html Can't find official wording of it from the CBA, but if you Google "NHL Intermission CBA", you'll find dozens of stories about the changes in the new (read: current) CBA which mention the intermission increasing from 17 to 18 minutes. -

Bylsma might keep his job?! Oh please oh please oh please oh please...
-
While I would think that hilarious to see Shero and Bylsma out the door, I'm secretly wishing they stay. It's become blatantly obvious that they won't win with those two at the helm, so why shouldn't we hope they keep their jobs?
-
Well, that's one way to get rid of him...

So, what you're saying is if I want to play this series, I'd better pick up '14... Offhand, if the console crashes on you in the middle of the game, does Olcyzykcrykzvbyz come on and say your Xbox One is guilty of "subtle interference"?

Below is the remaining schedule for the Red Wings 2013-2014 Regular Season. If you see a game you'd like to volunteer for, please post in this thread with your selection(s). As members volunteer for games, I will continually update this post, to reflect which games have been picked. Please remember, if you volunteer to create a GDT, and for some reason you're unable to make it, please contact MabusIncarnate via PM ASAP. Mabus has agreed to be the designated backup in case someone can't post the thread. Don't abuse his generosity in this matter, though. And let's be fair here. I'm going to suggest that no member have more than a few games "reserved" at a time. If that turns out to be too many or too few to be feasible, of course it can be modified. Nothing from Aerosmith, The Cars, Boston, or The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, as they're all from Boston... Anything from Yellowcard, since their guitarist Ryan Mendez (@RyanMendez on twitter) is a die hard Red Wings fan.

As Chicago is the defending Cup champions, I must hold my nose and cheer for St. Louis. Chicago must not be the first team since the 97-98 Wings to repeat...
-
If Detroit loses and Columbus wins tonight, the Wings will be locked into the #8 spot. If that happens, give a few key guys a rest vs. St. Louis on Sunday.

1 - Roy 2 - Bylsma 3 - Babcock That's how I think it will play out this year. Not how I think it SHOULD be, just how I think it WILL be... Pittsburg has lost about 100 more man-games to injury than Detroit, and they handily won their division. That will put Bylsma above Babcock. And Roy is coaching a team that finished dead-last in the West last year (2nd worst in the league) to potentially wining their division against St. Louis and Chicago. That fact alone will likely lock him in as the winner.

3 points out of 8 possible, and Detroit is in the playoffs. And that's assuming everyone still wins out. Any further losses by New Jersey will make that number even smaller.

Chris Pronger is still listed there. That makes me chuckle every time.

Are you wanting to post a YouTube video? If so, the easiest way is to simply copy the YouTube video URL and paste it into your post on LGW. When you click the "post" button, the Forum software will automatically convert the URL into an embedded video in the message...

I use TuneIn radio as well. Just search for 97.1 the Ticket out of Detroit. It's a free app and they stream the games. But they tend to run about 45 seconds or so behind. So it's live, but it's not LIVE live.
