Back when I worked retail, working strange days and hours, I had a bit more freedom to wear my jerseys. Plus, I was younger then and found ways to justify jerseys as part of my day to day style. Now, working in a 9-6 M-F Business casual office however, jerseys are NOT allowed. So I have to find other ways of showing Wings pride (I have a few Red Wings golf polos that I wear that are allowed). For big events (Super Bowl, Final Four, etc) they'll let us wear jerseys, so I'll don one for those days. But now that I'm older, I just don't see jerseys as part of my day to day style. They just really don't match with anything I have. Plus, I really don't want to lose 12lbs of sweat by wearing a jersey in the Dallas heat & humidity. Now, I will *ALWAYS* wear a Wings jersey if I'm going to a Wings game. There is never any question in my mind for that. And if I go to a Stars game, I'll usually wear my Amarillo Rattlers jersey. (Defunct team from a defunct league. This is not my jersey, but it's the same style).

Millbury's such a ******... "Well *I* didn't do it either..." Let Jeremy have his moment. He spent the better part of his years in the NHL for the Hawks. Seeing something like this is gonna be an emotional moment for him.

Ah, booing Gary Bettman. I love it.
-
That's a goal. Chicago wins.
-
Whoa, wait a second? What's the call?
-
"Helter Skelter here at the start." Now there's a term you don't hear every day in hockey...
-
And "next goal wins it. If it's Chicago, they skate the Cup. If it's Philly, we go to game 7". He must have said that thirty times in Game 5 from '08.
-
Wow, what a play by Leino to start that whole thing.

I don't think it's any harder than just saying no. You said it earlier, these guys are all professionals. If Stevie's only loyalty now is to Tampa Bay, so why would Holland and Co. be any different to the Wings? If Yzerman asks to speak to someone that the Wings don't want to lose, they'll say no. Just as Yzerman is now in the business of turning TB into a winner, the Wings' top brass is still in the business of maintaining a winning team. They won't let Yzerman's past with Detroit get in the way of that.
-
Exactly. Yzerman must get permission from the Wings to be able to talk to these guys. It's not like he's a thief in the night, hogtying them and dragging them off. If the Wings feel it's a big enough problem, they'll say "no" and that will be the end of it. I guarantee that they would refuse him to speak to a guy like Hakkan Andersson, for instance.

Well, let's see... Three Stanley Cups, Conn Smythe award, NHL All-Rookie team, Lester B. Pearson award, Selke Trophy, Masterton Trophy, Lester Patrick Trophy, 9 time NHL All Star, 692 goals, 1063 assists, and is the longest serving team captain in NHL history. Vs. Signing one of our pro scouts, and asking to speak to our "capologist". That's it. Break out the torches and pitchforks.

Versus Camera/Director fail.
-
And Carter ices it. There will be a game 6 at least.
-
Wow, a couple of close chances there.
-
Oh great. The Count is on Hockey Central... This is game One, Two, Three, FOUR!! AH AH AH AH AH!!!
-
3-1 Philly. Claude Girioux left wide open on the left side of the net.
-
Deflected and in. Wow, what a shot. 2-1, Sharp with the goal.
-
2-0 Philly. Carle gets it giftwrapped.
-
Richards opens the scoring with a PPG.

I can't say I'm too familiar with Verbeek's work as a scout (i.e., anyone in the organization that he scouted/recommended), but I can't imagine he's irreplaceable if Detroit gives Yzerman permission to talk to him. I know one thing though. No way we let Stevie take Hakan Andersson. He is definitely one of those irreplaceable pieces.

I'm always a little leery of multi-year deals for guys over 35. But a longer contract should mean a lower average cap hit, so I'll trust Kenny with it.

I've watched it in slow motion on my DVR (nothing like they have in Toronto), and it hits off his stick first. It gets close to his lifted skate, but I can't say if it did or did not hit the skate. I do know that Toronto reviews all goals in the playoffs, so they obviously approved this goal. Though, you always have to take any "Toronto" decision with a grain of salt...

Can't call that one back! Flyers breathe life into the series.

Oh this is going to be interesting... Wow, no goal.
