This threads's already running perilously close to the end of the line. If you want to discuss the defensive situation, like whether we'd be better or worse off with certain defenseman, then that's fine. But keep it on track, civil, and keep your posts meaningful please. Thanks!

Stuart has an NTC. Not saying it's impossible to move him, but it'd be that much harder since he'd have to approve the trade.

What's the matter, *coach*, don't remember the ole' BS LGW Red Wings?
-
Had to know this was coming. Mac will always be one of my favorite Red Wings. Still have his jersey in my hall (read: closet) of fame.

Thanks to the link provided by VIB16, I purchased the BeerTender last night. Seriously can't wait till it gets here! And can't wait till even more beers come out with the DraughtKeg!

Very sad news. Godspeed to him and his family.

I don't know why, but the logo on the second one reminds me of the flying monkeys from The Wizard of Oz... "Oh ee oh... OH oh!!"
-
Keep it civil folks.

They're close, I'll give you that. But they're different enough, in enough ways, that they don't seem to be a direct rip off. The new generation of Coyotes jerseys ('03-current) has had 2 different incarnations. and I suppose if you took an amalgam of the 2 white jerseys (red shoulder panels, and the stripes along the hips and sleeves), then it would look fairly close to the new Canada jerseys. Same can be said of the red jerseys too. But the differences in the stripes, and the differences in the colors of the red (Phoenix's looks much more maroon to me, whereas the Canada jersey looks a bit lighter. But that could be just my opinion of the color...) But if you ask me which one is more of a copy, the USA 3rd from the Rangers jerseys, or the Canada jerseys from Phoenix, it's not even close. USA wins that competition hands down.

Someone got paid to make those? Hell, I could slap a Maple Leaf on a Wings jersey instead of the Winged Wheel, and accomplish for Canada the exact same thing that Nike did for the USA on that "third" jersey... I like that Nike tried to stay traditional with these, but I gotta say I'm a bit disappointed. The blue jerseys need stripes on the arms, not to mention that I'm a bit leery of this "We The People" design they're incorporating. If they make that part of the hockey jersey like they did the basketball jerseys from the '08 games... *shudders* And what's the deal with the blue shoulder piece on the normal white jersey? Am I the only one who thinks that part looks horrible? (by "normal", I mean the non-NYR-ripoff). IMO, these are very disappointing for me.

He was 44 when he was here in '07. And now that Downey's gone, 44 is vacant again... And #7 is retired, so we know he can't take that!

Ok, in an effort to try and keep things on track, I've created a new thread just to discuss the Bertuzzi & Moore incident. So let's keep the discussion in this thread related to Bertuzzi's possible signing with the Wings, possible line combinations, salary cap issues, etc. Thanks guys!

Friendly reminder. Keep the discussions civil please.

Moving this one to the Rumor Mill. I'll move it back if it proves to be true.

As I read the rule, it seems to me that the wording states it can't be used as the primary crest on the jersey.
-
I like 'em. They're simple, and they look more traditional with only the two colors (arm patches notwithstanding), but have a bit of a modern touch with the pattern inside the maple leaf. That's an international jersey I would consider buying. Glad to see that Nike didn't Oregon-ize these jerseys... I'm hoping the USA's jerseys are simple & classy too. But I'm not holding my breath...

I have a Curtis Joseph jersey that I had customized with "CUJO" instead of Joseph. Only got to really wear it for 1 1/2 seasons, but it still was one of my more favorite jerseys, since it was something a little different. I've thought about doing a Franzen jersey with Mule, or Franzenstein on it, but I think Franzenstein is a bit too long. Heck, Zetterberg is almost to long as it is, and it's only 10 letters... 'Stein has 12...

Ok guys. All points about being civil aside, let's try and keep the discussion on track here. If you guys really want to have a "State of the Boards" discussion, the Member Services sub-forum would probably be more appropriate. Thanks!

There's already a thread discussing Williams, and his potential effect on the upcoming season. No need for a 2nd.
-
Agreed. Pair Lilja with Big E when/if Lils comes back. Surely I can't be the only one who thinks that a Lilja & Big E pairing would be nothing short of pure awesome.
-
Agreed. I don't have anything against him or anything. He just never did anything that really made him stand out to me. If he helps fill some of the offensive void left by our FA losses, then I'm fine with him signing here. I would not, however, be fine with him signing for 2.5 million.

Bringing back Williams? Meh. Bringing back Williams at 2.5m? I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Mike Grier's agent says he's 'interested' in Red Wings
Jedi replied to Drake_Marcus's topic in General
People. Keep the political talk (ie heathecare reform, taxes, et al) in the Political Discussion forum. That's what that section of LGW is for. This section is for discussion of hockey. This thread, in particular, is (supposed to be) about the possibility of Mike Grier joining the Wings. So let's keep the discussion on topic. Please. Thanks. -
Mike Grier's agent says he's 'interested' in Red Wings

Wow. Wouldn't it be great if LGW had a place where we could discuss politics? Please keep the discussion On topic. That topic is Mike Grier, as evidenced by the topic title. -
Too bad Texas Arby's won't honor it... *sigh*
