Huge PP here. Grab the goal in regulation boys!
-
Yeah... That's to be expected...
-
Helm off for Goalie Interference...
-
Lidstrom, playing in his 1300th game tonight! 3rd all time in Red Wings history!
-
PP. Interference as Helm gets dropped...
-
Ugh... Breakaway... ...and goal...
-
No Trade Clause. I'm guessing that's why you said "dream world"?
-
Wow... A 2nd period deserving of Groundhog Day...
-
Sloppy PP...
-
PP. High sticking.
-
ANOTHER penalty... Mule for hooking...
-
And Legace's chased!
-
Hossa!!!!
-
Wow... What a shot... Ah, and Ozzie almost had it too... Tipped off his glove...
-
No worse than the one Legace just let in!
-
No, as far as I know restructuring or renegotiating existing contracts is not allowed.

I love how this genius (and obvious Avs' homer) is suggesting that this contract is deliberatly circumventing the Salary Cap rules in the CBA... Hey buddy. In the future, it'd be a wise idea to actually KNOW the rules of the agreement that you're accusing someone else of violating...

Wow. Just, wow. All I have to say, is a big TAKE THAT to all the columnists and pundits who were predicting the whole "Z must decide on whether it's worth it to stay for less, or hit the market to make much much more". Glad to see that there was never an issue in that regard!

From what I understand, the reason that we can't is because Lidstrom and Datsyuk aren't really suspended, so to speak. Suspended for disciplinary issues usually means suspended without pay, meaning the Club isn't off the hook for the money owed to them. If that were the case, we could call someone up from GR without worry about their salary. However, Lidstrom and Datsyuk are still receiving their salary, because they're not really suspended. They're being forced to sit the game out to "prove" their injuries. As a result,we are still just as cap strapped as ever, and unable to make a callup without sending someone else down. Hence, the short bench tonight. There was a recent snippet about that in a story from Yahoo Sports' Puck Daddy blog...

Alright... This one's run it's course...
-
Really, with today's marketing and sales oriented jobs, that's about par for the course. Not going to be for everyone, especially the cold calls and the setting up of at least 10 face to face meetings, but jobs like that tend to pay well for those who have what it takes to make it work.

Found this while browsing around the Uni Watch blog... Seems like the Referee and Linesmen uniforms will be getting much the same treatment as the jerseys did with the change last year. Here's the Yahoo Finance story about it. (Sorry, no pics yet).

There's speculation on KuklasKorner that Hossa and Rafalski were asked to fill in for Datsyuk and Lidstrom, but there isn't any proof to it, just speculation... Anywho. Good, says I. The All Star Game is a joke anyways. Glad to see that we're more in favor of resting up the important guys than a game that has zero meaning. Just gives me one more reason NOT to watch.

Interesting...
