Datsyuk was classic in that interview. Great to see them have that much fun like they did tonight. Great win, even with the shaky start.

How horrible. Big case of bad karma offset by good. Bad karma, the ****** (and I don't use that term lightly) who stole the stick from the kid. God karma, the Wings organization making sure to step up and get the kid a replacement stick. Just sucks that the kid lost a small piece of history there.

I actually think it was fun to hear that tonight. Gives you a bit of a "behind the scenes" sense. Especially on the replay on the Franzen goal. Hearing Ken Daniels say "Nice Shot Guys" when they pulled the shot with the zoomed in effect.

They looked great, for sure. That said, there's no need for a third jersey. Look back on the history of thirds. There's only 2 teams now that have never had third jerseys, and that's the Wings and the Devils. The only time the Wings have used thirds was in 91-92 (for the NHL's 75th anniversary. The NHL mandated that all Original 6 teams wear throwbacks), and then today. So, long story short, the only times the Wings have worn a jersey OTHER than their current unis are when the NHL mandates they have to. Odds are, that's the ONLY way they'll ever do that, is if the league mandates that all teams have to make a third jersey. The Wings have had ample opportunity to jump on the "third jersey" bandwagon, and have wisely avoided doing so. I'd put my money on them staying that course for as long as Mike Ilitch owns this team.
