Ilitch reveals plan for new $450m, 18,000-seat Red Wings arena
Jedi replied to Ally's topic in General
Actually, I've seen several sources indicate the naming rights are held exclusively by Olympia Entertainment, one of the Ilitch's companies, rather than by the Downtown Development Authority. As such, they would have the rights to name it whatever they wish, or seek sponsorship (read, selling) for the name. Here's a story on ESPN that talks (albeit briefly) about the naming rights... -
Erm, Danny DeKeyser is a right winger? Glory be!! We found our top 6 forward!!!

Trade Rumor. NYR sends John Tortorella to VAN for Alain Vigneault. (e5).

Adrian Dater with the Denver Post is reporting that the Avs are now more interested in a forward than Jones, with Sakic possibly hinting that they may trade off the 1st pick... No one is saying they are interested in trading the #1 pick, but there sure are a lot of "If we do pick first" quotes there...

Who does he get traded to in two years or less?
-
Of course they would give free versions of games I already own... But, it doesn't matter. I'm only a Silver member, and will never be anything more than silver. But those are some great games to get for free if people already are Gold members.

Won't happen. Flip's days in Detroit are done. Malik followed up on this with the following...

Can't believe Quenneville was 2nd. More consideration for having a stacked roster than Babs ever got, even in 07-08/08-09. The Mustachioed One deserved it, and I'm glad he won.

Finally finished about everything possible in Skyrim. Now I've moved on to a 10 year old Xbox game, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge. CS was always a fun game to play, so I figured I'd spend $10 for it and download it.

Some of the "highlights" about the uniform, from Puck Daddy... IMO, these jerseys SCREAM "Team Canada". What say you? Pass or Fail?

Per Ansar KHAAAAAAN!!! And Helene St. JAAAAAAMES!!! (Hmmm... lacks the same effect as KHAAAAAN) Nice to see the speculation come to an end. That's an unnecessary distraction.

Hey, the "Mooterus" wasn't all that bad for us Wings fans. After all, this happened during the Mooterus' reign...
-
No, the league has it mandated that the dark jerseys are to be home, and the the white jerseys are the road jerseys. That's got to be an error with the graphic designer who created that template.

Here's the old jerseys, courtesy of NHLUniforms.com...

Started out great, but became tremendously unfunny by about the 38th time he used the "how many Cups" line. Probably used it so much because he's a bit insecure about the precisely zero Cups his hometown team has (despite what they want you to believe at Bridgestone Arena), or the fact that Detroit alone has more than all the "Conference III" teams combined. But I'm sure he'd just lump me in with everyone he thinks he's talking about, so what's the point?
-
There are restrictions to LTIR, but they're not nearly as bad as you think. When a player is placed on LTIR, the team can effectively reduce his cap hit to zero allowing teams to overspend that player's share of the cap while he's injured. I say "effectively", because the cap hit is only reduced to zero if the replacement salary (such as a call up or signing) pushes the team over the salary cap. To be placed on Long Term Injured Reserve, a player has to be deemed unable to play for a minimum of 10 games or 24 calendar days. If a player is placed on LTIR and heals faster, he must then wait out the minimum time, so he would be unavailable even if healthy. Once the player is healthy enough to play, he can be reactivated and is available immediately (provided it's been longer than 10 games/24 days). However, if a team used the cap space that was saved by the player on injured reserve, they must cut salary to be cap compliant again.
-
No need. They'll have him on LTIR, so he won't count against the cap. If he comes back, we're a better hockey team. If not, he won't hurt the team's cap situation.

According to Ansar KHAAAAAAN!!!, Helm won't need surgery, and the Wings are expecting him to be ready for training camp... http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2013/05/red_wings_darren_helm_wont_nee_1.html

gdt WCSF Game 7 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Blackhawks 2 OT (CHI wins series, 4-3)
Jedi replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain, or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands LETS GO RED WINGS!!! -
You don't want to say "I told you so", but then you proceed to pretty much say "I told you so", though in a more respectful manner than most others would. I don't think there's a need to continue that aspect of discussion in the GDT for a game that was a month and a half ago... The GDT for tonight's game will do just fine.

Red Wings don't belong in the same rink as the Hawks?
