I'm glad that Shanny's found a place that he feels fits him well. And as much as I miss the guy, I'm torn about wanting him back. Sure, the sentimental side of me says bring him back, but if we do, that's one MORE roster spot taken away from one of the younger guys. Shanny saw that it was time for both the team and himself to move on. And I applaud him for doing so in as classy way as he did. He's a shoe in for the Hall of Fame.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this hardline stance what screwed them out of Evgeni Malkin? Mettalurg got nothing for him when he left (practically defected), when they at least could have gotten SOME kind of compensation for him?
