Let's go boys. Grab the goal here.
-
Looks like a PP for us?
-
And another PK coming up...
-
Well... At least we haven't completely hung Dom out to dry yet. We're getting some decent chances, but not enough sustained pressure.
-
Ping

Not sure how much I trust this, if for no other reason than the timing involved. Kenny Holland is notorious for not doing any contract negotiation during the playoffs. Can't see him changing that policy all of a sudden.

I've never been a fan on blaming the refs on a loss. And I'm not about to become one tonight. Sure the calls could have fallen our way more, but the Wings had their chances and they did not convert. We just completely shut down midway through the second, and never got it back. San Jose took advantage of that, and they earned the win tonight. We definitely earned the loss.

BAD time for a call...
-
Damn. Coulda used a goal on that PP...
-
MUST score here.
-
No help at all from the forwards. The Wings are just sitting back and letting SJ walk away with this game.
-
Come on guys. We HAVE to get more pressure here.
-
Geez. The ice is definitely tilted in SJ's favor right now... GOTTA play better than this...
-
Wow. GOT to be smarter than that guys...
-
Big kill there. Glad to hear we escaped the 2nd with only the one goal scored. We need to come back out flying in the 3rd.
-
And the Tank sounds like a library compared to the Saddledome. Detroit managed to win a game there too.
-
Oh come on... Hudler gets hauled down, and we get nothing... Now they award SJ with the PP...
-
Dammit... Only a matter of time the way they were playing... Crap. Now the crowd's back into it.
-
C'mon boys. Let's grab an insurance goal...
-
Huge PK here. Gotta keep them out of this...
-
C'mon boys. Let's cut that lead in half.
-
Damn...
-
Kiprusoff was the best player for either team, without a doubt. Detroit's MVP is a bit more open to debate. Cleary, Franzen, Lidstrom (apart from a few mishaps in games 3-4). Hasek did well too, but wasn't really worked much.
-
I think the most frustrating thing out of the series in 04 was that there was no reason at all that Detroit should have lost that series, based on the level of talent on that team. Not to take anything away from Kiprusoff, because he was unreal. But when you have a bench consisting of Yzerman, Lidstrom, Shanahan, Hull, Datsyuk, Holmstrom, Zetterberg, Draper (who won the Selke that year)... Detroit should have buried Calgary that year. Shoulda coulda woulda though...

Jiggy, it probably hasn't been said to you enough, but Thank You, for being such a shining example of what a hockey fan should be. Far and away, I have to say the #1 star of the series is Kiprusoff. Although his stats from games 1, 2 & 5 may not reflect it, he was a force to be respected out there, and he is what stretched this to 6 games. Fantastic effort by a fantastic goalie.
