I just want to know one thing. What that hell was going through her mind that made that seem like a GOOD idea...

Believe me when I say that I hope I am too...

One of the worst things to come out of this, is that you will probably never see Kronwall make his signature hits again. If the NHL is willing to suspend him, when he has never been suspended before, then he will have no incentive to make that kind of hit again. Any hit from here on out will have this suspension looming over it. RIP "You Got Kronwall'd". You had a pretty good run.

Suspended one game. BS call, in light of everything else that has gone on in the 1st round and this series.

Tread carefully. That subject teeters perilously on the edge of political discussion, which has been well documented previously as not being allowed. I generally don't like coffee, or tea. -
And the NHL continues to prove that their disciplinary process is a joke...

S'matter Yzerman, afraid of the jersey you wore for so long?
Jedi replied to Jersey Wing's topic in General
So, now that game one of this policy is in the books, how many red & white jerseys were in the stands? Could anyone tell a difference now that out-of-staters (technically) couldn't buy tickets? -
More fun solution. Relegation, like the European Soccer/Football leagues have. Buffalo drops down to the AHL, the 2nd worst team gets the #1 pick, and the Calder Cup winner gets promoted to the NHL. I know it's impossible to do so, and would be a logistical nightmare to implement, but it would bring a whole new twist to the concept of tanking for the best pick. It would still give even the worst teams reason to play to win.

The "magic number" is 2. Any combination of 2 points gained by Detroit, or points lost by Ottawa, and we're in. So, unless my math (and tie breaking understanding) is wrong, the breakdown of all possibilities would be this...

For me, I'll always love the intro to NHL '98...

Still on Destiny. No sign of slowing down either. I joined a clan on Bungie.net about a month /month and a half ago, and it has been the 2nd best decision* I've made in this game. It opened up a vast group of like-minded players that are constatly running the raids, nightfalls, and even in the crucible. Since then, I've completed all raids on normal and hard, collected 9 or so exotic weapons, and had even more fun that I would have thought possible. I'm pushing hard to get to level 32, and I can probably get there in a week or two. *The first was buying Ice Breaker when Xur had it in January, that was my "turned the corner" moment from being a marginally effective player to being someone who could hold his own in any situation.

Matthew Wuest, Capgeek founder, passes away from cancer
Jedi replied to jeff48109's topic in General
Such sad and terrible news. The world is that much darker and less informed now that he is gone. I remember hearing more than one NHL GM advise a reporter to check CapGeek for an answer. To me, there could have been no better endorsement for his site and his work. Rest In Peace Matthew. Thank you for all you did for hockey fans. -
I'll take 3/31 vs. Ottawa.

Red Wings acquire Marek Zidlicky from NJ for Cond. 2016 3rd Round Pick
Jedi replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Marchenko will be sent down tomorrow regardless. It's a paper move that allows him to play in the AHL playoffs. Pulkkinen likely will go down like this too. But yes, I can't imagine Marchenko supplanting any of the other 5 guys on the blue line. 5 Guys... Man, now I want a burger... -

It's worth noting that Zidlicky waived his NTC to come to Detroit. -
And finished Crota's End last night. That felt more like work, but was still fun. Got a nice shiny haul of loot for it too. I detest PvP when it comes to games like Destiny and Halo. Personally, I think co-op has always been much more fun, since it's all about support and reaching an objective. That's why Destiny's two raids have always appealed to me. I'm glad they both lived up to my expectations. Now to try them both on Hard mode...

I think Cory Cross (and the Cory Cross trade) gets a bad rap around here unfairly. That's right. I said it, and I stand by it. -
Nashville Predators to Host Alumni Game vs. Detroit Red Wings

WOOLLEY BULLY!! Must win this game. Don't care if it has no effect on the standings. Must. Win. This. Game. -
Best news I've had all day.

1st round pick was too high a price, and with Toronto in our division, it would have been higher. I don't remember who it was, but someone had some interesting speculation regarding any Toronto-to-Detroit trade. They said that above and beyond the traditional conference rival issues, there's also the whole "Mike Babcock to Toronto" issue as well. If Toronto wants any shot at landing Babs, they have to hope Detroit loses out early in the playoffs. As such, they won't be interested in sending Detroit any player that might help them make a deeper run, since that would significantly lessen the chances that Babcock leaves.
