That's a big mistake as it stands with the CBA right now. While they need to get rid of that albatross of a contract, they might be better served by waiting until the CBA negotiations. I've heard rumors that teams are pushing for an "amnesty clause" allowing one player to be bought out with no penalty. Buying him out now might not give the Habs that option. That said, Bob McKenzie had an interesting idea regarding Gomez too. (Mashed together from several individual tweets).

Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old) - Garth Brooks

With the management's desire to leave prospects in the minors until they're "overripe" (a term I'm sure we ALL love so much), I highly doubt that Jarnkrok will crack the Wings' lineup this year. If he does see any time on this roster, I'm sure it would be as an injury replacement. As a full timer? Highly, highly unlikely.

I'm up to 90% galactic readiness now, and will likely be at 100% before the end of the week. Your readiness rating increases very slowly at first, but really snowballs as you go, by using this app. Each time you complete a "mission" in the app, it gives you a readiness rating bump, as well as credits to spend towards upgrades. You can upgrade readiness rating bonus, buy extra fleets (for more missions active at one time), increase your fleet's shields (less chance of having to spend extra time to repair fleets), and decrease the time that missions take. In the real game, I'm currently on the Citadel, going after the Cerberus assassin (who looks BAD.ASS.). From what my friend has said, I'm about 1/3-1/2 through the game by now, but I've done damn near every single side mission possible to this point, and with my War Assets and Readiness Rating, I'm almost completely green when I view the war map readiness. Great, great, great game. And I love how they've incorporated actions and decisions from the first game into this one too.

And I'll echo some of Matt's statements. While Matt does a tremendous amount to host this site, LGW is such a great place because of it's members. I know so many people who have made lifelong friends because of this site, and I believe at least one marriage became a reality because of LGW. It's the community that we as Wings fans have built up, that makes this site what it is. So while I definitely agree in my thanks to Matt for hosting this great site, I hope that all the members here will remember to pat themselves on the back as well. You guys are the best! Thanks! Already working on new ideas for my next one. Now keep this discussion on topic or you're all banned!!!

If I'm not mistaken, Shanahan had the A from his very first game as a Wing. *edit* Confirmed. Shanahan's first goal as a Red Wing (taken from the '97 championship video, Hockeytown) shows him with the A on his chest.
