I don't think there's any one thing that could be attributed to the Wings' recent struggles. Certainly poor defensive effort, boneheaded turnovers, and shaky efforts from the goaltending has definitely had an impact. But I don't think there's any way you could say that it's only the defense's fault, or only the goalie's fault, or only McCrimmon's fault. It definitely something that the coaching staff needs to work on. There's no way the Wings will go far in the playoffs if they're consistently allowing 3, 4, or 5 goals in every game.

Ouch. That's going to be a huge blow to their long playoff run chances. I guess one good thing for them at least is that the injury happened before the trade deadline, so they have a chance to make a trade if they feel it's needed. I'd be lying if I said my first instinct wasn't to snicker a bit. But I don't want karma to come back and bite the Wings because of it. I damn sure would hate to have one of our top guys to get hurt like that at this point in the season.
