So, the empty shipping box that Sony sent me (the box that I use to send my PS4 back to Sony) took its sweet time getting to me. Due to even more quality service at Sony, they generated the shipping order for FedEx, then proceeded to sit on the box for 3 days before actually giving it to them... FedEx was awesome in getting updates sent to me via email and Twitter, and they kept that up through the entire repair process for the 2nd repair job. I told them that Sony could learn a thing or two about how to take care of their customers. That said, finally finally finally my PS4 arrived back, and it is working perfectly. All told, it "only" took 25 days to get done... Still have one last call to make with Sony. We have a little matter to discuss about the 25 days I couldn't use the PlaystationPlus service that I already pre-paid for. They're either going to give me a free month, or are going to issue me a partial refund of a month's charges. Either way works for me, but I will not settle for anything less, if for no other reason than the principal of the matter.

I have an awesome wife. She knew I was pretty pissed and probably a little mopey since my PS4 is off for repairs (shipped back home today, will know Saturday if it works or not when it arrives). So she did a LOT of searching and scrolling online, and found what she was getting me for Christmas. And then, when she picked it up, she went ahead and gave it to me. To match my Glacier White BrickstationPlaystation 4, she got me the Cirrus White Xbox One bundle with Sunset Overdrive! So, I've been playing S.O. for the past couple of days. It's an... interesting game. Not necessarily my style, but it is fun to play. Fully expect it to take a back seat to Destiny when/if my PS4 ever gets up and running again, but I'll get around to it again, for sure.

Awful, awful news. So very sad for him, his family, the Sens organization, and hockey in general.

You know what I'm NOT playing right now? MY GO'RAM PS4... The console that Sony sent back was working WORSE than the one I sent them. So now they're sending another box to ship the console back to them... Because at this point I should have absolute and complete faith in Sony's repair process... "Pissed" is not a strong enough word to describe how angry I am. I'm not sure there is a strong enough word in the English language. Or any language, for that matter.

OK, that was fast. Shipped off my PS4 on Friday afternoon, one week ago today. Because I live in a small outside-the-metroplex suburb of Dallas, FedEx didn't pick it up until Monday, arriving at Sony's door on Wednesday... It shipped back to me yesterday. Sony didn't even have my console for 24 hours. And, FedEx is now showing that it is slated for delivery today. If so, that's a turnaround of exactly one week. That's damn impressive.

Since my PS4 is gone for warranty repairs, I've been going back 2 generations and playing Sid Meier's Pirates (an original Xbox game, backwards compatible with my 360). Nothing like a little crappy graphics piracy to vent the frustrations of sending my not-even-two-month-old-PS4 away for repairs...

Confirmed. PS4 must be sent back to Sony for repairs The good? They will pay for shipping both ways, so the repair will not cost me anything out of pocket. The bad? It takes 3-5 business days for the shipping box to get here, then 3-5 back, 7-10 business days for the repairs to be complete, then another 3-5 before it gets back to me. So, a month likely before it's back and working again. The ugly? Sony will not refund me for the month of Playstation Plus service that I have already pre-paid, while my PlayStation is not working. Though, that fight is still ongoing.

Well... My PS4 glitched out last night, and is still giving graphics glitches and locking up, even after 2 system restores. Calling Sony this evening to see what needs to be done. For all intents and purposes, it's RROD'd on me (without the actual Red Ring).
