If you want to expose him to waivers, sure. And even if he made it past waivers, there's zero chance he'd make it back on re-entry waivers. Whoever picks him off re-entry waivers would get him at half salary, and Detroit would have to pick up the tab for the other half. That's why Meech is still down in GR, because the Wings don't want to expose him to re-entry waivers.
