I don't understand it either. However, I've read stuff on Montreal and how it's a mafia run city and the High School drop out rate is about 40%. The city has been going down hill since the 1970's because people and businesses have been leaving in droves for Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary. That right there may explain the bad behavior and lack of respect in that town. http://www2.macleans.ca/2009/10/29/montreal-is-a-disaster/

Yea he get's in nice a close when doing an interview. I'd be backing away.

I'll 2nd, 3rd, 4th, whatever, the comments here about wanting Pierre to be hired by TB so I don't have to hear him on TSN and NBC anymore!

I still wonder though if Ozzie was hit on the joint part of the pads? Only Ozzie knows though. Goalies can fall easy with all their padding on, so I don't think Nabokov dove in the original post. You can tell if someone dives by the way they fall, that doesn't look like a dive by Ozzie to me. He lost his balance. And that hit to the head on Franzen was in slow motion... Plus what was Getzlaf expecting, he'd jump back up to his feet? Franzen probably got his bell rung, and needed a few seconds.

Not to sound like a homer, but those aren't the same things as what the Sharks were doing. There was an intentional slash after the game, a guy hitting Ozzie at full speed behind the net, and a punch to the head of a guy who's had concussion problems. I'll be the first to admit Holmstrom and Maltby embellish though.

What I don't like is that the refs did nothing about it! SJ kept diving because they weren't getting called for it. Getting called or not though, that's no way to win, it's almost like cheating. The Sharks were only thinking short term and will get there's in the end.

For them getting to the 3rd round is like winning the Stanley Cup!
-
They were talking on the radio all week on the FAN590 in Toronto about the officiating being horrible over all, not just in the Wings-Sharks series. I don't like to blame the refs, but the Sharks were handed this series, Game 2 especially was a complete joke!

I like, I like that a lot! For me it's a cap room thing more than anything else.
-
Call me crazy, but I wouldn't be too upset if Lidstrom retires. Nothing against him or his play, I'm just wondering if it's time... Plus I wouldn't mind having the extra cap money to use in the off season.

Draper has one more year on his contract correct? Let him finish it out!

I'm on to Baseball now, Go Tigers!

Can't win 'em all, there's 29 teams wanting to win as badly as we do. There's nothing to be ashamed of at all. I hope the guys enjoy their summer, rest up, and are ready to go at it again in October. I enjoyed watching Howard come into his own this season. Between the pipes looks strong in Detroit for the next decade. Jimmy got some very valuable playoff experience. Personally I think he did an excellent job all year! We'll be back. I think the Zetterberg, Datsyuk, and Franzen years have at least one more Cup in them. Let's Go Red Wings!

I've been surprisingly calm this playoffs, I think it's just cause being 33 sports is dropping on the priority list. I would think Sharks fans are more nervous going into this than Wings fans are. It's easier being the team that's trying to make a comeback, than the team trying to close a series out. I was nervous in the 2008 WCF when Dallas won a couple games after we went up 3-0, so I know what Shark fans are going through now. I hope however the series ends, it's the players that decide it, not the refs.

Ouch a -2 (so far) for my comment!

Yea it's always an adventure when that has the puck.

Get well Matt! Enjoy the game tonight dude! Go Wings!

This blog is one of the many reasons why I don't listen to or read any kind of sports analysis outside of Sports Talk radio. I really don't understand how some so called sports experts actually get paid for the trash they report and write about. Topics like Detroit is old and one win wont change that is something I'd expect to hear from a friend who's jealous of the Red Wings... Usually it won't do anything to try and write these guys because their e-mail is probably screened by an assistant or their ego is so huge. Maybe a generation or two ago over 35 is old, but it's not like that anymore with the workout routines and diets the players are on now. And it's not like the old days where the players eat hot dogs and drink to much beer after games, they are more disciplined when it comes to food... Someone who writes about sports should know that. Complete trash!

I wonder when the "Looouuuu" chant turns to "Boooooo"?

I didn't have a problem with Franzen getting a penalty on that play, but Setoguchi should have got a double minor. On the FAN590 today they spent an hour talking about how bad the officiating has been in the entire playoffs, not just the Wings-Sharks series. Crosby's gotten away with a lot of things, and fans aren't happy overall.
-
We've been coming back all year, what's one more comeback? I would think IF we win Game 5, SJ panics! Imagine them having to add blowing a 3-0 lead to their playoff resume?

Thornton is my least favorite player in the league.

Detroit Red Wings!

Wings fans living it up! you Wings fans! Edit: Detroit fans, the best in sports!
