I'm ok if the Wings don't make the playoffs this year. We're not going to win the West this year, so I don't mind getting a good draft pick this year and our guys getting some much needed rest.

I used to be a Cherry fan, but he's lost all credibility in my mind the last few seasons. He's should have retired years ago. Edit: Kelly Hrudey does and excellent job for CBC and should join Ron McLean after the first period instead of Don.

I'll say what I said when the Leafs got Wilson, it's to soon to get a guy like Phaneuf. Even if Burke turns this thing around, Phaneuf will be in his early 30's before the Leafs start winning. Also, I'm wondering how long Phaneuf will take playing on a losing team like Toronto before he asks for another trade? I understand they Giggy deal. Getting rid of Blake and Toskala's contracts are huge. However, why don't the Leafs just bottom out for a few years and load up in the draft? They're never going to turn this thing around if they don't draft well! They continue to run this team like they're only a few players away from winning. What a joke!

Right. Before this year we only allowed 25 shots on net, so we've never needed a goalie to make 35+ saves a night. We needed someone who could make 22 or 23 saves, while we scored 4 goals a game. Remember in 2002-04 we had a goalie that could steal games, CuJo, and he couldn't cut it. It even took Hasek half of 2001-02 to get used to less shots.

Yes Howard's da man now, but it's not like we've been in bad need of a goalie. We've been the best team in the League for two decades.

I have to vote for Sid. I don't think there's anyone in sports right now who annoys me more. I'm even ok with Malkin. I think Crosby got to much credit for last year's Championship, when Fleury and Malkin were the true leaders of the Pens. Call me crazy, but despite all the bad blood and playoff games against him, I've never really minded Pronger too much. He was someone I would have liked having on the Wings.

Personally I think the only player worth watching now is Kobe. I did however enjoy our 2003-2007 Pistons with Chauncey B-B-B-B-Billups, Hamilton, Sheed, Big Ben, and Prince.

Again, agree 100%! Shootouts ruin the anticipation of the playoffs. It's such a let down to have a game decided on a marketing gimmick. The trade deadline hasn't been the same since the salary cap came in. It was a lot of fun to see what Detroit, Colorado, Dallas, Toronto, Philly, etc. were going to do at the deadline.
