If the NHL can get a national tv deal, then it could maybe pass the NBA and be 3rd. Currently the NHL has better attendance than the NBA. Plus the NHL only works in half of the country, so the chances of the NHL passing the NBA and even getting a tv deal are very low. The NFL and MLB are king in the USA, and have been for 100 years, no sport will ever pass them.

Wait a second there Kwame, Ozzie's a future Hall of Famer. Ozzie has a better career Goals Against Average and Save Percentage than Ward. Add to that, Ozzie has 3 Stanley Cup rings and is closing in on 400 career wins. Ward, is a loooong way away from Chris Osgood territory.

NHL Officiating - I've pretty much lost faith in any consistent co

I agree. I'll be the first to say hockey was better before the lockout. Edit: The penalty calls in the last 5 minutes that are in favor of teams down a goal, drives me insane! It seems like it's been happening more often since the lockout too. I wouldn't be surprised if the refs were told by the league after the lockout to call more penalties to increase scoring. -
Ok, I have Crosby 3rd behind OV and Malkin.
-
Same here. Kwame_Kilpatrick makes me laugh, I'm a fan.
-
lol. Who's your #1?

I picked other too. My other is Bertuzzi

I'm just having a little fun. Come on, there's no way you can compare Tatar to, in my opinion, the second best player in the League, Malkin. What argument is there needed to be made? I think there's enough evidence in this discussion that says Tatar isn't ready yet. Also with Franzen, Holmstrom, and Williams coming back soon, there's no reason to bring him up.
-
Thanks for the info. I've probably seen all 3 then.
-
And 3rd overall when including road games

I've seen the one at the Hockey Hall of Fame 3 times. Every time I've seen it I quote Stevie at the end of the 1997 Championship Video/DVD, "Is this the real one or the replica?" Edit: I have yet to have someone say it's the real one, or else I'd say, "This is the real one? The one that's been around forever?" I wonder how many times I've watched the 1997 Championship video?

Tatar isn't close to the talent Malkin is. Dude, bad comparison.

Then I'm the opposite. When I called on Friday about tickets to February 13th, the sales rep was telling me about a 3 game pack for those of us out of town, and I really like the idea, because The Joe is a 3 hour drive. If the Wings are at the Palace next year, I'll pass on the 3 game pack.
-
Yep with that shared concourse. Just trying to get out of the arena after the game take almost 20 minutes sometimes.
-
Even in the Yzerman-Shanahan-Fedorov era it was like this too. Everytime I go to the Joe too, I've been to weeknight games, the arena is packed. I heard not to long ago the Wings are 5th in the league in attendance.

We're not a bad club, we've just been hit by the injury bug. The fact we're only one point out of 8th with all the games lost due to injury proves we're a good team. We'll make the playoffs.
-
Thanks for the laugh Zetts!

Right, there's no reason to make a deal with players coming back from injuries. Plus there's the Salary Cap to think about.
-
Right. Moving to the Palace would probably only be a inconvenience for us Ontario Wings fans. Instead of a 5 minute drive to The Joe when we cross the border, it'll be 45 minutes to the Palace. When I'm at the Joe on February 13th I'll remember to take it all in because it maybe the last time I see the place. That's sad when I think about it.
-
Yea I'd say it was a draw. Edit: Just because someone falls on top, doesn't mean they won the fight. Eaves landed the better punches (3 in a row too).
-
edit: oops

Nothing wrong with fans from other teams, it just those fans that only come to stir things up. You and fans of other teams with realistic views and comments are welcome and encouraged.

Yea I must have missed the last LA win when thinking of the standings in my head, oh well, easy mistake. I guess I'm labeled an idiot by this guy because I didn't click on the NHL standings like he did. I don't take things personal anyway, so whatever. It just shows you how close the standings are. Talking today with Davis35 we said what are the chances that LA plays better than the Wings from here until the end of the year, considering LA has been dropping in the standings, while we're making our way up. Plus we'll be 100% healthy soon! I think finishing 6th in the West is realistic. I'm sure Chicago, or any top 4 seeds, are praying they don't face the Wings in the 1st round.
