Excellent news! I don't know if our e-mails did anything, but all I want to do is watch the Red Wings on either TSN or CBC without having to pay extra. With 4 series left and two networks (TSN and CBC) in Canada able to show game, I don't think it's unfair to ask for every game being on regular cable. In the 1st round I can understand if not every game can be on cable, but 2nd, 3rd, and the Final, every game should be on.

Here's my e-mail to TSN: Can you please STOP putting the Red Wings on TSN2, or give game rights back to CBC! This is getting very annoying! I know you are trying to market the new station, but the majority of your audience is Southern Ontario, with a large number of Detroit Red Wings fans. Wings fans with regular cable or Rogers Cable want to see our favorite team play. Enough of you trying to squeeze more money out of us with your 2nd station, especially in this Economy! Plus this series has the last two Champions going head to head, the majority of Hockey fans will want to see this. Get a clue and put the Wings-Ducks on the main network!

It's just a game! It's not worth getting into a fight over a form of entertainment and something you have no control over. Let's take note fellow Wings fans to stay classy.

No need to rush Draper back. Enjoy the break Drapes. I'm sure Kopecky will sit when Draper's ready to go.

Columbus Columnist: Osgood is Wings' Weak Link
Barrie replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I think this article is based on frustration and a way to try and pump up himself, the city, and the organization after getting their lunch handed to them, or should I say shoved down their throat. Any one associated with the Blue Jackets would have been a complete fool to think playing the Red Wings would be easy. Every team has a weakest link. I don't think it takes a genius to see that the Wings strongest points doesn't include goaltending. Holland himself has said he'd rather spend the majority of their cap money on the forwards and defense. The Wings don't need a $7+ Million goalie, when they allow 20-25 shots on net a game. Anyone playing the Wings, their goal to beat them is to take at least 30 shots a night. But try, when the Wings have the puck the entire game. It's our system. -
One of the comments I heard about Joe on a pre post season show, is that he needs to shoot and go to the net more to be successful in the playoffs. He needs to use his size as an advantage and throw his weight around more. Compare that to what we've seen the last few years with Datsyuk and Zetterberg in the playoffs. They don't seem to be afraid to hit, get hit, and get in the middle of scrums after the whistle.

Full credit to Ozzie, but we really have played two excellent team games. The "D" is making Ozzie's job a lot easier, just like last year.

I'm going to be in Windsor for Game 2, I checked tickets, and I was floored that Upper Bowl was $100 each! I thought there was a recession going on, and the city of Detroit has a 20% unemployment rate? I have to admit I just don't feel "it" this year for the playoffs. We've seen 4 Cups, so I feel like I really can't expect anything else right now, or get to upset or down if we don't win this year. With all the success we've seen with the Wings, my focus is to see the Tigers do well. Let's win a World Series now!

Wings in 5! Man I can see it now. Columbus is going to flock to the arena for their first playoffs, make a ton of noise, and all the TV analysis are going to comment on how great a Hockey City Columbus is. I find it annoying playing these type of markets in the playoffs.

I'm ok with the move signing Franzen. I just hope that is it with the looooooong term deals for a while.

Osgood says he is ready to lead the team in the playoffs
Barrie replied to CenterIce's topic in General
Whoever's starting, I'm behind him 100%! If Ozzie has some problems in the first few games, Conk is there to back him up and take over. Thinking about it, it's probably mentally better for the team in this situation if Ozzie starts. If Conkin starts, has problems and we need to make a switch to Ozzie, it's more of a panic if the goalie with the worse numbers comes in, than the other way around. It worked last year! Plus Conkin isn't a playoff tested goalie, Ozzie is. -
That's the risk when you buy tickets to a sporting event. There's always a chance your team, even if they're one of the best in the League, will stink up the joint when you are there. It's not like TV or Movies where there's always a feel good ending.

Think of all the players that have become better since they signed with or were traded to Detroit, i.e. Cleary, Sammy, Maltby, Draper, Lilja, etc.. And don't forget all the low drafts picks, i.e. Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Holmstrom, Ericsson, etc..

Ozzie played well, to bad we couldn't score for him.

We won't know until the playoffs... Just sit back and enjoy.

I thought Mac did a good job on radio those few games when Ken Kal was sick. I'd like to see/hear McCarty in the broadcast booth someday soon.

The misconception that Datsyuk and Zetterberg are equal
Barrie replied to JeffBridges's topic in General
Who cares who's better than who, just enjoy both players. They bring something different to the game that the other one doesn't. Let's not make this Yzerman vs. Fedorov part 2. Both guy are on our side. -
I don't get when someone says something against a player it's called "hate". I'm a big Chelios fan, but the playoffs are a grind. Chelios didn't play a game in the Finals last year, and I'm ok, due to his age, if he only plays in the playoffs due to an injury or someone else not playing up to par. Lidstrom, Rafalski, Kronwall, Stuart, Lebda, and Ericsson should be the starting 6.
-
I'm a big Mac fan, as you can tell from my pic, but I hope him and Chelios watch the playoffs, unless there's an injury.
-
Great win boys. I'm convinced now that "Conk" should be the starter in the playoffs.

16-6 was our record in the 1998 and 2008 Playoffs.

I think Kenny's saying all the right things, but I'm sure even he know if we sign Hossa we're screwed in 2010-11.

My early Western Conference Champion is Detroit or Vancouver. Early East, is NJ.
