Players and teams are only hurting themselves by doing this. Theres no way Forsberg and Sundin, sitting out most of the season will be a positive addition to a team late in a season. They aren't in game shape.
-
I don't care where Forsberg signs, he would be a non-factor. He's no where near NHL game shape, and would injure himself again.
-
I agree 100%.
-
I'd react the same way as when we got Chelios. I'm be shocked because of the history and bad blood he has playing against Detroit, but would warm up to the idea quick.

Two words describe Pierre McGuirre best, "Canadian Homer". Thank you to the man who decided to put a mute button on the tv remote. Pierre's a Tool!

Sweet win! Calgary is my favorite team in the league to beat. That's two straight games where we've comeback from 2-0 deficits. Nice work boys! 19-4-4
-
Considering we're at the Cap, this will probably be the team that we'll see go into the playoffs, and I don't really have a problem with that.
-
Yup, just as long as we win the division.

I think lets go pavel's stats prove that Ozzie flat out wins games and has been a winner his entire career.

It's to bad fans aren't giving the Wings credit for the amount of goals they are scoring. Everyone is pointing to the ones we're letting in, despite an outstanding 18-4-4 record. I know giving up a lot of goals isn't good for the playoffs, but it's only December, the playoffs are still 4 months away. Personally I think the Wings are showing a lot of character this season. I'm sure opposing teams have the Red Wings games circled on their schedule and get up the most for them. So good for the Wings to score as many goals as they have to combat their opponent's extra energy when facing the defending champs. We'll tighten it up on D, we've done it before and we'll do it again, I'm not worried. If you want to worry in December, to each their own.

Zetterberg's going to make more than Datsyuk.

Today on Hockey Central at Noon on the FAN590, they were saying Avery should have played last night and have to face Dion and Iginla (Who he said something about earlier in the year). If players could get their hands on Avery when he says something stupid, he'd probably shut up, instead of being suspended by the League. Suspensions don't do much to help this type of situation. I find it funny that people get so offended when Avery opens his mouth. What do they expect? It's Avery.

Yes Ozzie is a Hall of Famer. So far he has 3 Cups rings, and probably will be in the top 10 in career victories when he retires. If that isn't a Hall of Fame goalie, I don't know what is.

Buffalo, Edmonton, NYIslanders, St. Louis, and Vancouver should wear their 3rd jersey full time.

THN.com Blog: "Comeback Kid" Lemieux most hated ever by Jason Kay 29/11/2008 3:00:02 AM Claude Lemieux's comeback attempt will inject more hate into the NHL if he manages to make it that far. Claude Lemieux is No. 1, so why try harder? The quintessential shift disturber ranks atop the register of most hated players of all-time in our recently released publication, The Ultimate Book of Hockey Lists. Now, as he attempts an improbable comeback with the San Jose Sharks at age 43, the question becomes: can he do anything to alter that status if he indeed makes it all the way back to the NHL? Not likely, but stay tuned. In the meantime, you can digest this excerpt from the book...or even purchase a copy to get our take on the order of the universe in 100 other areas. MOST HATED PLAYERS 1. Claude Lemieux - Mtl, NJ, Col, Phx, Dal (1984-2003) 2. Sprague Cleghorn - Ott, Tor, Mtl, Bos (1918-1928) 3. Ken Linseman - Phi, Edm, Bos, Tor (1978-91) 4. Kenny Reardon - Mtl (1940-50) 5. Ulf Samuelsson - Hfd, Pit, NYR, Det, Phi (1984-2000) 6. Sean Avery - Det, LA, NYR, Dal (2001-present) 7. Eddie Shore - Bos, NY Americans (1926-1940) 8. Billy Smith - LA, NYI (1971-1989) 9. Dale Hunter - Que, Wsh, Col (1980-99) 10. Bryan Marchment - Wpg, Chi, Hfd, Edm, TB, SJ, Col, Tor, Cgy (1989-2006) The Terrible 10 share two common traits: they were universally despised and highly successful. Exhibit A: Claude Lemieux. He was the ultimate do-whatever-it-takes-to-win player; using his stick to score big goals and whack opponents, while using his mouth to annoy foes and on at least one occasion, bite. He won four Stanley Cups with three different teams, garnering the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP with New Jersey in 1995. His legacy was cemented when, as a member of the Colorado Avalanche in the 1996 Western Conference final against Detroit, he dangerously crushed Kris Draper from behind into the boards. Draper sustained a broken jaw, nose and cheekbone and required reconstructive surgery on his face. Lemieux was suspended two playoff games and incited one of the most heated rivalries hockey has ever seen. http://sports.sympatico.msn.ca/NHL/Content...c&date=True I'm glad to see it isn't just Wings fans who hate this piece of trash.

Agreed. I think Zetterberg is the best player in the league, and Datsyuk is right there behind him. Edit: Zetterberg, in my opinion, has been the best player since the lockout.
-
Well, as of now, only one could go under, not all 3. Even if one goes under, it'll probably overall make the other two stronger.
-
If the Red Wings can stay in Detroit when they only made the playoffs 2 out of 17 seasons, they'll last through the few years it'll take for the big 3 to get their act together.
-
Rough game tonight, Price made some big saves and the penalty on Hossa was . It's also rough to play a team as skilled as Montreal the first game after a western road trip. No worries here, we'll get 'em next game.
-
Please, don't even try and debate this or take Lemieux's side. Along with not saying he was sorry to Draper, Claude also added fuel to the fire the next year in the media saying he made Draper's career and made Draper another $100,000. Lemieux deserved everything he got that night from McCarty. Also, Lemieux was injured for almost half of 1996-97, so Draper and the rest of the Wings didn't have a chance to avenge the hit on Draper prior to March 1997.
-
I'd like to see Datsyuk punch Lemieux.
-
I always feel the same way when I start a discussion, and I laugh everytime a discussion starts this way. Matt and the boys run a such a tight ship here that many of us are worried when we start something.
-
Yea I think this will be a good thing for the Leafs. Hopefully the board and teacher's union stays out of his way.
-
I wouldn't think so either. Mac, despite being a fighter, I'm sure is well liked among hockey fans. Also Mac was trying to change his life, it was a feel good story. The majority of people would have been rooting for him. Lemieux on the other hand is an @ss. Edit: Probably only Avs and Devils fans would be behind him.

What do you think about it Mack_Attack? Good or bad?
