I'd maybe switch Malts and DMac, get them both involved in the finals. I'd hate to see one sit the entire time.
-
It'll be even brighter tonight at about 10:30. It's a great feeling knowing we could make our 5th trip to the finals since 1995. With all the games and rounds in the playoffs, I think that's a great accomplishment. :beerbuddy: Here's to a possible 4th Stanley Cup. Great news about the Mule. I heard today, if both Conference Finals are sweeps, the Cup Final will probably start a week tomorrow, so Mule and everyone else have a good week to heal up.

In 2001, how could we pass up the change at getting Hasek? Especailly after losing in the first round to LA. Looking back, I wouldn't change a thing.
-
I thought the same thing. For a second there, I was wondering if that was a pic from 2005-06.
-
Man, I've been soooo impressed with Datsyuk this playoffs. The guy's turned into the player a lot of us were hoping for. He's a lot stronger this year physically, which was the knock on the guy for a fews years. Props to Dats for hitting the weight room and improving his game.
-
And Franzen wasn't a guy we were expecting to lead the team in goals. It was a bonus for us to have him put 12 in.
-
How quickly Stars fans forget we had a goal called back because of a hand pass (which could have gone either way) and they missed the net 5 times on quality scoring chances in Game 2.
-
I agree, just send 'em home after 4 games. Don't even address it or go after him. Edit: make them think something is going to happen, and they'll be distracted, watching their backs.
-
I don't mind Ozzie being fined, but guys can't swing their stick at other players. Ribeiro should sit a game. I shouldn't be surprised. This is the same League who only gave Pronger 8 games for stepping on a guy with his skate on, and who continually give Simon 7th, 8th, 9th, chances.
-
:nopity: Dallas needs to shut up and worry about getting back into the series. Two games in a row they've complained to the media.
-
Ozzie's been here for 11 years, and he's never been one to dive like he's been shot. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say it was one of those things that hit him in the right spot, stung for about 30 seconds, left a bruise, and he's ok. If it was Holmstrom, Maltby, or Hasek, I'd have my doubts and say they were trying to draw a match penalty.
-
I agree, anyone who complains about empty seats should buy them. But every playoff game has been a sell out, so there's nothing left anyway.
-
The tickets are sold and the team is making the money, that's the main thing. If people don't show up, it's their loss. I agree with OsGOD, the average person can't afford those tickets, so why would the Wings try and sell them to the general public? It's the corporations that keep revenues up, which allows us to send to cap and spend money on scouting and player development.
-
Then the League would have to suspend Turco for swinging his stick and hitting Holmstrom in the back of the legs.
-
Yea great win by the Pistons tonight without Billups. I follow the Pistons, but not to the point I do the Wings. When's Chauncey B-B-B-B-Billups expected back?
-
I taped the game.... After reviewing the play, Ribiero should get a one game suspension no questions asked. The League doesn't want players swinging their sticks at opposing goalies when the game is over. To suggest Ozzie should miss a game as well is crazy. All Ozzie will get is a warning from the League to be careful with the butt end of his stick when guys are coming in, or at worse a $1,000 fine that won't even make it to the media. Look at what Turco was doing to our guys, throwing punches and swinging his goalie stick. Turco shouldn't be suspended, and neither should Ozzie. Also, I don't think Ozzie is the kind of guy to dive. He's been here 11 years, and we've never seen him fall down like he was shot, so why start now? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but if it was Hasek, I'd have to wonder. I'm sure, even with padding, getting hit with the blade of a stick would sting for 30 seconds.
-
Ribiero should get atleast a game. I'm sure the League will do something about it, they don't want this kind of thing happening after every game.
-
That's a thing to suggest to your fans when you're down 0-2.
-
I agree. I only like fights if it's justified, and not if it's just for the hell of it. I don't want to see players get hurt by a stupid hits, I'd rather see teams go at it face to face, man to man. This year's playoffs have been outstanding. None of those annoying 7 and 8 seeds advanced past the first round, keeping the quality of hockey very high.
-
Nashville, Calgary, Boston, Minnesota, and NJ all were eliminated in the first round (trap or potential trap teams), and the League is better for it. I for one have really enjoyed the high tempo games this playoffs.
-
The way we're playing, I don't see how we'll lose tonight or lose the series. Turco is going to have to win twice in Detroit for Dallas to even have a chance at going to the Finals, and we all know Turco's history at the Joe. Wings win tonight 4-2, and the series in 5.
-
I agree, all the times I've gone, the place is loud. Red Wings fans, Detroit fans in general, have seen it all. We don't need to blow the roof off the building in the 1st round, unlike Nashville, where they have NEVER won a 1st round. Detroit teams needs to do something for us before we go nuts. We'll try and give them a boost when they need it, but overall they need to show us something and earn our cheers. It's a good thing because the teams are accountable to the fans. Edit: I find it people in the media don't understand this.
-
Yea every game has been a sell out, so I don't understand why people are saying the building is half full.
-
Yesterday, because I was curious, I checked the Wings Playoff attendance. We've sold out every game. Detroit also has Baseball and Basketball tickets to sell at the same time, unlike some other cities in North America.
