When was that? I wouldn't be surprised if it was in the 1995 Playoffs. The fans were nuts that year with the octopi.
-
You have to think more of our shots are going to get by Ellis in Game 6. There's no way he can save another 50 shots. I wouldn't be surprised if we win 5-1 and he gets yanked.
-
Oh man, that's funny! Gotta watch out for those goal celebrations.
-
Oh man, those "D-Mac is back" t-shirts rule! I'm buying one! I can imagine the reaction Bettman is going to get if we win the Cup on Home ice this year. Gary will probably send someone else to present the Cup if that happens. I bet ya Bettman is rooting for Nashville to beat Detroit so Hockey can be revived there. This was probably something he tried to use to distract us, but screw him!!

Franzen's becoming Mr. Overtime!
-
I agree, 37 shots is 37 shots. Ellis has been outstanding. Eventually one has to go in.
-
The D had the passing lane, all Draper could do was take the shot.
-
All we can do is just keep shooting.
-
If we make it to the Finals, I'm sure Iron Mike will tell Al it's ok to be fined a few times. I still don't understand why the league would do this. Are they trying to discourage Wings fans from throwing octopus on the ice? It's Detroit we're talking about, we'll just throw more.
-
Good period. Just keep shooting boys! I wouldn't be surprised if we get 45 shots tonight, we're flying.
-
Another reason why the NHL is the worst run league in North America.
-
And Franzen will score the Game 6 OT goal.
-
Holland's going no where. If Holland is fired, 29 teams will be calling him.

My answer to the question, "Time for a new captain?" if we lose to Nashville. NO! I don't think I need to explain myself.
-
Even if Ozzie started the first four games, the series still would be tied 2-2. Hasek played well, but it's time to start Osgood. The rest of the way, you have to think more of our shots will go in, and less of there's will. Nashville has had a little luck on their side to win both games at home. I think we'll see a repeat of 2004, and we'll take Game 5 and 6. Edit: I hope so, or else it's on to the Tigers and Pistons.

I think Ozzie gets the Shutout tonight and we score 3. 3-0 Wings

Yea the NHL playoffs are set up for top seeds to be upset every year (Currently only 3 of the top 8 teams in the League are leading or have already won their 1st round series). The mid-level teams rule the playoffs. I don't mind losing, what bothers me is when media, fans, whoever, think a season is a failure if a team goes out in the 1st round. Anything can happen in best of 7 series and when over half of the League is able to compete.
-
Oh boy, Calgary and Nashville, with no shot at winning a Championship, have a good chance at taking out the two best teams in the NHL in the first round. I'm sure the league, who's wanting a big tv contract with a major American network, is thrilled about that. I see more crappy tv ratings coming. No wonder why we're stuck watching the NHL on Verses instead of ESPN, and the League get's nothing from NBC. Man the NHL needs to wake up.....

Ok it's time for my yearly first round rant. Man, I'd really wish the NHL would get a clue. Their top two teams, this season, in the first round could be tied 2-2 after the first 4 games of their series. Both teams, with a couple bad breaks could be knocked out of the playoffs. Detroit Red Wings or not, but I don't think a League should treat their best teams this way. Anything can happen in a 7 game series. I really wish they would cut down the number of playoff teams to 8 or 12. All these low seeds do is ruin the playoffs, dumb down the game, and people lose interest. They play spoilers a few round, and run out of gas in the later rounds. Ok I've had my say. Go Wings!! I said 4-3 Wings before the game, so I'm still in the running.
-
Yea, if Nashville can come back down two, so can we. Let's switch rolls, and see if they can hold a lead.
-
I'm proud to say I wore a Wings t-shirt last September in the Calgray airport during a stop over on my way to Vancouver. I made sure I wore the same t-shirt on the fight home too.
-
CBC is showing the game after Ottawa loses, lol, so for the 1st period I'm listening online. I think we win 4-3 tonight. Cleary, Lidstrom, Zetterberg, and Filppula score.
-
My question, how many playoff series have you won? The atmosphere is a little different when comparing teams who've won/done it all, to teams that haven't even won a playoff series. Expectations are a different. We're not going to blow the roof off for a win in the first round, we'll blow the roof off when we win the Stanley Cup. It's about time Nashville supported the Preds. If Jim Balsillie had his way, the Preds would be in Hamilton.
-
It's playoff hockey. Atleast we get a chance at closing the series out at home.
-
I think the key to tonight loss was being unable to get a 4th goal in the 3rd when we were up 3-2. If we were able to make the score 4-2, Nashville probably wouldn't have scored at all. We let them stay in the Game.
