I'm a big Ozzie fan, but I think we'd be down 2-1 with Ozzie in net. Hasek made some big saves in Game 2, and has been awesome!
-
Ah no worries. All we have to do is tighten up a bit on D. Hasek's been playing awesome.

It would have been nice to win tonight, but it's tough to sweep a series. Most of us in the Playoff prediction discussion figured we'd in in 5 or 6 anyway, so we're right on to where we should be. I for one am not worried at all. All we need to do is be a little smarter in our own end, and not allow Nashville those quick odd man rushes. Other than that, I've been very happy with the way we've been playing. We're fine, Wings in 5!

I'm just wondering who they think it is on our team that doesn't like to be hit. I would assume he's talking about Datsyuk and Zetterberg, but Dats and Z have been throwing hits just like everyone else. We're a tough team, so bring it on Tootoo!
-
Nah I won't lose any sleep over it. Since we're talking about it, I'd rather it not be at the Joe. Actually before this discussion started, hearing it in other arenas I've thought to myself, "I'm glad we don't do that in Detroit." I just find it annoying personally. Edit: And it makes me think of soccer

In case you didn't see it on the main page, Matt posted a link about the possible line combos for Game 3. MacLeod reports the following line combinations: Filppula-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Franzen-Zetterberg-Samuelsson Hudler-Draper-Cleary Drake-Hartigan-McCarty Lidstrom-Rafalski Kronwall-Stuart Lilja-Chelios

I'm a little surprised Denver made the top 10 considering the Avs and Broncos have combined for 4 Championships since 1996. And the Rockies have been decent. Edit: Well I guess that's their only 4.
-
All I gotta say is watch out for the Rangers.
-
I agree and noticed that as well, the net was lifted and was coming off when the puck was going in. NO GOAL!
-
Which is why I don't want Wings fans to use it. It's a soccer chant.
-
Sometimes, that's all you can say.

2002 we went down 0-2 to Vancouver, and we all know what happened after that. However, Dallas is an excellent team. I doubt Anaheim comes back, but you never know.
-
I think splitting up Dats and Z on the road is a good idea as well, but just for 5 on 5. I'd put them back together on the PP.
-
Yea I picked Anaheim to win as well, but don't mind being wrong.
-
Wow Dallas my join us as the only teams to be swept in the first round after winning the Stanley Cup the year before. Go Stars!

I hope Nashville continues to talk, it gives us more motivation to shut 'em up and send 'em home. Mostly from what I've seen is Nashville has been unable to take advantage of their chances, and we have. You can't blame the refs for missed opportunities. I counted 3 times in Game 2 when Nashville went offside on possible 3 on 2 rushes. And they weren't able to generate any momentum when the tied the Game 2-2, after a couple bounces went their way.

I don't think we'll see any lineup changes until Maltby is ready to play. Mac has been playing well, so I bet Hartigan will sit when Malts is back. I doubt we'll see Downey this playoffs, unless there's a few injuries. We've got enough size and strength without him anyway.

That chant was big at the Joe in the 1995 playoffs, especially when we were playing SJ and Chicago. Irbe's and Belfour's names worked perfect. I remember being at a Tigers game May 1995, and when Rob Dibble was pitching for the White Sox, we used Dibble's name in the "you suck" chant. I don't mind the "you suck" chant.
-
I hate the Olay song! It's sounds to much like a soccer chant.

I bought two of those "Old Time Hockey" t-shirts this year at the Joe. Those ones with a player's name and number on the back. I got a Yzerman and Holmstrom. Game 1 I wore Holmstrom Game 2 I wore Yzerman I think I'll have to continue wearing them this playoffs, and switch back and forth between the two. Game 3 it's back to Holmstrom, Game 4 the Captain again.
-
, that made me laugh. Good one.
-
There's still 14 wins to go, but this team looks like it's built for the playoffs.
-
I gotta admit too, I got a little choked up after the goal. Oh by the way, esteef's, your post was #25 of the discussion.
-
Yea in Hockey the action goes by to fast to see everything and make every call. I agree with Babs, if you look at it after on replay, you'll see a lot of things. Nashville did tie the game 2-2. They should have carried that momentum and taken the lead. Instead, we were able to get our composure, and score a quick 3rd goal.

Trotz should be more upset that his team went in off-side a few times on 3 on 2 rushes.
