My friend (who's a Wings fan) said to me that today's call is similar to the goal that was called off against Colorado when we played them on February 1st. Actually we watched that game together, and both of us at the time it happened said the goal should have counted for the Avs, but we'll take the "no goal" call. We ended up winning that game 2-0. Maybe we got a break on February 1st, and didn't today. Over a 82 game season, maybe these things even themself out after a while. I'm pissed at the call, but just something to think about.....

That's what bugs me the most about the call. I thought when the ref went to the glass he was going to ask for a review upstairs. I guess he thought it was a no brainer. Especially on a play like that, that point in the game, and between those two teams; get some help if you need it. If it was reviewed and upstairs said "no goal" as well, it would still suck, but would be easier to take. I'm sure the League is going to look at it and talk to the officiating crew from today's game. One thing I keep thinking is that this could be something that will help us out better long term. Games like that really light a fire under a hockey team. Going into the playoffs, we'll have more unfinished business to take care of.

With the Cap, if we get a goalie like Kipper, Luongo, Brodeur, etc., he'll eat up a lot of Salary and we'll have to get weaker in another area. If we can continue to limit our shots on net to under 25, we're fine. Having guys like Hasek and Ozzie allows us to strengthen or skaters and control the puck; instead of staying back on our heels and relying on our goalie to bail us out every game.

Nah, the only thing we need to do is add a little size at the deadline so we can K.O. the Ducks!

Yup, despite the loss, I loved how the Wings played today.

Ah screw the refs and the Ducks, we won that game. That disallowed goal was total b.s. (to put it nicely), I hope the league looks at it and speaks the officiating crew for making such a bad call. Atleast they can go upstairs and ask for help to get it right, that's what they are there for. I was very disappointed they didn't. That's all I have to say. We outplayed the Ducks over all. I loved the emotion by the players and the fans, how this rivarly is continuing to build, and can't wait to play them in the playoffs!

Count me as one of the guys who can't stand it when Sammy shots like a mad man, but you can't blame him for the injury. Anytime players are infront of the net, there's a risk of getting hit by a shot. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often. Maybe after this, Sammy will be more selective before taking shots. Injuries happen all the time, atleast we have a huge lead in the standings, and Cleary will be back for the playoffs.

Tucker still has a few seasons left on his contract at about $4 Million, I'd pass on Tucker. If he didn't have that contract, I'd probably be for it.

Well being more physical means players can take hits better, go to the net without being thrown on thier ass, keep the puck longer, etc.. Why would Datsyuk start smoking guys, and why would anyone suggest it? It's not his game.

I've been telling people this is the best I've seen the Wings play. They're all over their opponents, more so that normal. While waiting to get my hair cut today, I was reading an article about Lidstrom from SI. Nick said that this team is playing as well defensivly than they did in 2002, I hope it continues in the playoffs.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's noticing he's not getting pushed around as much as he used too. I've been impressed seeing him and Zetterberg getting more involved in the forecheck and play in the corners. We all know in April the games get more physical, so adding weight and getting stronger will help him, and everyone else on the team in the long run.

Well I think most people, including myself, wanted to see Dats get a little stronger. If we wasn't going to, it probably would have been better if he was traded. I'm happy to see Datsyuk hit the weight room. I've thought for a few seasons he needed to bulk up a bit if he wanted to get to the next level as a player.

I have to say Rocket Richard is still one of, if not the best goal scorer of all-time.

I know we've heard the same music at the Joe for the last 10-15 years, but I still don't mind it. I don't go to a wings game, or watch them on tv, to hear the music. The songs that are played at The Joe, that's the only time I hear them, since I'm a Classic Rock and 90's Rock guy, so I enjoy hearing "What's Going On", "Sandstrom", "The Launch", etc.. It means I'm watching the Wings. Those songs bring back great memories as well.

I'm sure Vancouver-Calgary-Edmonton Rivarlies is the main reason, and I wonder too, it makes less flights between the two countries. The players won't have to go through customs as much.

Hudler would be the only young player I'd be willing to trade.

I'm going to the Joe Feb 29th and March 15th, I'm looking forward to the possiblity of seeing McCarty back wearing his #25.

I have no problems rotating them in the playoffs like we're currently doing. Who says we have to go with just one guy? It's working now, and if the decision to name a #1 guy is to tough to make, just use them both. Who knows, in the 3rd and 4th rounds ( ) they'll be fresher than the opposition's goalie.

If I was a betting man, I'd bet McCarty will be on the team by the Trade Deadline.

Thanks for the links. It's great to see McCarty doing well. Reading about him being a full-time Dad again, is the best news of all. I'm going to two more games this season, February 29th vs. SJ and March 15th vs. Nashville, I really hope to see DMac in a Wings jersey. It would be an unbelievable feeling to have #25 back in Motown. You gotta love McCarty! It would have been great to win the Stanley Cup in 2006 or 2007, but if Mac is back and we win in 2008 instead, that would be 10 times better.
