Report: Balsillie gets deal in Hamilton

I think you said it best last week, that there's people in Southern Ontario that want to make the situation worse, so they (in my case, we) can get the Franchise.

If the Ducks win the Cup?

Yeah, I guess Sandman has never heard of the Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins of the 1970's.

Report: Balsillie gets deal in Hamilton

There's been conflicting reports. I first heard it was just over 12,000 paid. I think the free tickets mix people up.

If the Ducks win the Cup?

You should be a Black Hawks fan then.

If the Ducks win the Cup?

If the Ducks win the Cup in 6 Games or less, than that means we were the 2nd best team in the playoffs. If Ottawa stretches the series to 7 or comes back to win, than we are 3rd.

Report: Balsillie gets deal in Hamilton

I have to agree with betterREDthandead. Atlanta will stay in the South East. They are to close to Raleigh, TB, and Miami to move them to the Central. I would assume Hamilton would be/stay in the Central. The dividing line between the Eastern and Western Conference looks like it may be my home town of Burlington Ontario . Check a map and you'll see what I mean.....

    Robert Lang

I was a closet Langer fan. I'll admit that now.... Lang had the best goal song by far! Playing "He's So Fine" with the, "do lang do lang do lang, do lang do lang" was brillant!

    Kozzie a Wing again?

Please, no, don't bring back Fedorov! We just signed Maltby for 3 years, and if we bring back Kozlov, hell we may as well bring back McCarty and Lapointe too. I loved the team we had from 1995-2002, but let's move on. Let's go with the young legs, figure out what to do in net, sign Bert and Calder, and add a big name up front.

    Kozzie a Wing again?

Pass on Kozlov. Let's go after either Drury or Smyth.

    Canadians apparently prefer the Ducks

I can understand both sides of it. FYI, I'm a WWE fan and last night I was at RAW @ the ACC in Toronto. When we found out Ottawa lost Game 1 a bunch of the fans started chanting "Ottawa Sucks". I thought it was funny! Edit: For the record, I'm Canadian (check my profile), but I really don't care who wins. I picked Anaheim to win the Cup before the playoffs started, so I would like to see them win so I can be correct with my pick

    Canadians apparently prefer the Ducks

Because it's Ottawa, the Nations Capital, the place that taxes us to death and then screws around with our hard earned money. When it comes to sports, City/Team Pride comes before National Pride. IF the Sens win the Cup, I'm sure there will be Sens fans that will rub it in the face of fans from the other Canadian teams/cities. Plus Leafs and Canadiens fans hate Alfredsson with a passion, the last thing they want to see is him lift a Cup before Koivu and Sundin. Just because a team is from Canada, doesn't mean everyone from Canada has to cheer for them. Think if the role was reversed. Imagine if it was in the heyday of the Wings/Avs rivalry and Colorado was playing Montreal in the final. Just because you are from Michigan doesn't mean you have to cheer for Colorado because they are American. Any true blue Wings fan would be cheering for Montreal. Edit: Most of my friends who are Leaf fans don't want to see the Sens win it. With sports, the city comes before the country.

I got to hand it to you for having a realistic view about it.

    New Uniforms?

The way the uniform fits doesn't bother me, I just don't like those horizontal stripes :puke: .

Bertuzzi would LOVE the stay with the Wings

Ok thanks. Yeah I thought I was safe cause I didn't see a title with Bertuzzi in it, oh well.
  19. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/stories/inde...&thispage=1 If the price is right and it's a short term contract, I'd bring Bertuzzi back. We only saw him at about 75%. Also, the article talks about Hasek's future, and why Chelios didn't shake hands after Game 6. It's a good read, check it out!

    My thoughts about the Wings

I don't know if you meant to do this, but with a user name like Lou_Siffer, I laughed when you said you were in "hell". Did you have something to take care of down there? Do the demons slack off when you're gone?

    Go Sens!

Booooo Ottawa , booooo Anaheim Let's Go Red Wings !!
  22. Now that the Wings are out, are you going to watch? Honestly, I have no interest in a Anaheim-Ottawa Final. I'll follow along, but I won't sit down and watch it on tv. It's to nice outside, plus, the Pistons are going to probably win the NBA Championship, so I'll be watching that, and since the Wings are out, it's now unofficially Baseball Season, Go Tigers!

    The Predators have been sold.

Right. I've also heard a debate about putting a team in the West 'burbs of Toronto (Mississauga) and appealing to the working class. The Leafs can be the Corporate Team, where the Mississauga team would be the Blue Collar Team. MLSE would never let anyone in their territory though. Ok, thanks for the numbers. Like you said, I think some people are making the situation sound worse, especially here in Southern Ontario, because they want the team to move. Honestly I'd like to see it happen, but would hate to see great Hockey fans like you lose your team.

    The Predators have been sold.

Fair enough, you would know better than I would anyway.

    The Predators have been sold.

Wasn't paid attendance in the 12,000's not 13,000's due to free tickets being given away? I heard today on the FAN590 that the organization will need to up paid attendace by 2,000 or so per night to keep the team. I also heard too, on the same station, that the city of Nashville, if they see that losing the Pred's would be a big hit on the local economy, would buy the remaining 2,000 seats to every game if they need to. I've heard debates for putting a 2nd team in Toronto. MLSE would NEVER allow it, but it's an excellent discussion!
