I like it when opposing players say stuff like this. It gives us white board material and more motivation. I hope Pronger continues to talk. Some players need to take note what Yzerman and Scotty were like with the media, they kept their mouth's shut. That's what made them Champions. Yeah, only Pronger would do something like that.

Making trips out West is nothing new. We've been playing Western teams for years. We've debated this before. The NHL has said the Wings are to important for the Western Conference, and the Organization knows it too. I don't see the Wings moving East anytime soon. Columbus will switch Conferences before we do.

Good one Mac If you ask me, I think the Tigers own this town. However, Detroit is an excellent sports town all around. Each team is well supported.

Oh well, it would have been nice to win both games in Anaheim, but we got what we wanted, the split in Anaheim. It's a best of 3 now with 2 games at The Joe. Give Anaheim credit for winning tonight without Pronger.

Remember, Pronger has a history of this type of behavior. People are getting sick of seeing him snap and lose it when the going gets tough. Hockey's an emotional game, but at the end of the day people have families to go home to. I couldn't imagine what Homer's wife and kids were going through seeing their husband/father lying on the ice with blood running down his head. If this wasn't the playoffs, Chris would have been given 5-10 games. I understand loyalty, but I can't understand how anyone could defend Pronger's hit on Holmstrom. I for one would be totally embarrassed and pissed if one of the Wings players hit someone like that. I'm glad we have a team that hits hard, but doesn't cross the line where they could seriously injure the opposition. Between the 2nd and 3rd Periods, on TSN, Healy called Pronger "An Animal". If the shoe fits......

I can't wait until Pronger has to face the fans at The Joe for Game 5. Everyone at the Arena will be on Pronger. If you have tickets enjoy, because it's going to be a fun night.

Right. Plus Maltby high stick on Getslaf wasn't intent to injure. I watched the reply close, Getslaf pinned Maltby's stick down, Kirk tryed to get it free, and when he did, happened to hit Getslaf in the face. More or less just a sloppy play on Maltby.

I agree with Matt. Also, 5-0 and getting them one game closer to playing golf, is a better way to get them back, than to hit one of their players. I don't want to stoop down to their level. Let Anaheim be the goons and lose AGAIN in the 3rd round, while we win the Western Conference Final and move on to play for the Stanley Cup AGAIN.

You always get those meat heads who say hits like that "are part of the game" and "he should have had his head up". I'm not surprised.

Yes Holmstrom should have come back. It gives the "screw you", "nice try", and "you're going to have to beat us on the scoreboard" to Anahiem. Suspension or no, as mentioned in another post, just wait until Game 5. The fans at The Joe will be all over Pronger. I hope it's an elimination game.

Worse than a suspension, is Pronger having to face the fans back at The Joe for Game 5.

Hasek's momentum was carrying himself into the net anyway. I think the Wings knew what was going on, or else there would have been a bigger argument about it. Remember too, we only had 1 shot in OT, maybe 2. This series should be tied.

In fairness to the officials, Hasek didn't have control of the puck, it was lying on top of him, that was probably the reason why the whistle wasn't blown. The main issue is if he was pushed in or not. It was reviewed, and it was called a goal, nothing we can do but win Game 3. Even if it wasn't called a goal, who knows if Anahiem would have tied it up or not? The way both teams are playing, this series should be tied.

Tough night for Detroit fans. The Wings, Pistons, and Tigers all lost. Oh well. Despite Anahiem's 3rd goal, this series should be tied. It would have been a stretch if we could take them both. Just as long as we win one game in Anaheim, we'll be ok.

I'm feeling good about Game 2. You have to think we'll get more shots on net and less penalties called against us tonight. We'll see, but it could mean a 2-0 series lead .

To me it looked like Perry got the worst of it. When both guys got back to the bench, Cheli was sitting up while Perry was bending over.

Last night's attendance was 19,939 and the Joe holds 20,066. A lot of people are going! Not bad for a city who's Economy is in the toilet, and there's 2 other teams playing. The Wings are making a sh!t load of money right now. Having less than 200 empty seats isn't a big deal at all.

Ducks fans are "Homers", just like Wings fan.

I thought the game was even. No one really dominated in my opinion. The difference was we were able to convert on our PP chances, while the Ducks weren't.

I don't want Hudler in there. I'm happy with Lang and Calder playing over him. Hudler get's pushed around to much.
