Wow! Excellent game. That was one of the best games I've seen in a while. The 2007 Wings are soooo gritty/scrappy. I LOVE IT!!

I'm starting to wonder if we're going to be the ones who surprises the Ducks? Think about it, the Ducks have had an easy ride to the WCF ONLY playing Minnesota and Vancouver. Both were done in 5 games. We played two tough 6 game series against Calgary and San Jose. We maybe the team more ready to go. Plus, Anahiem has been sitting around and waiting for a while.

Yeah we allowed the least amount of shots on net this year. Our D is fine.

Well, the cup is half way home. Excellent series by the Wings . This year's version of the Wings is really fun to watch. The SJ series is a good prep for Anaheim.

I would think Calgary, Edmonton, and surrounding areas would be the Mecca of Hockey in Canada, not Toronto. In the country Toronto maybe 4th behind Calgary, Edmonton, and Montreal.
-
Yup, that's why the Leafs can raise their prices, because people continue to buy the tickets. Supply and Demand.

The Sharks haven't shown me anything. They've blown 3 leads and just hung on in Game 1. Their only convincing win was Game 3. It's over tomorrow night. I too have heard the Sharks would beat the Wings into submission, just like they did against Nashville, but it's been the other way around.

Datsyuk is driving me nuts! He continually tries to "deak" around 3 or 4 Sharks players when he skates in over the blue line, and loses the puck. Someone needs to tell him to fire the puck in when there's 3 players between him and the net. We have created some good scoring chances against the Sharks when we dump, chase, and forecheck.

Canadian Politicians have to much time on their hands. Doan shouldn't even respond. -
I stay up for every playoff game. It's not to bad for me. I'm a contractor/painter and I work close to home (It's very rare when I have to drive more than 45 minutes to a job), so even if I start work at 8:00, I don't have to get up earlier than 7:00.

I think Bab's has done an excellent job. I hope he's around for a while, because I think we can win a Stanley Cup with him behind the bench. SJ is really a tough team to play against and this series can go either way. If we lose to the Sharks, I still feel this season was a big success. We are playing better playoff hockey and we evened an old score by making 2004 history. All we need to do is win Game 4 and we're back in the drivers seat. SJ has a lot of pressure to win on Wednesday and not let us back in the series. Bab's will have us ready to go. Remember it took Scotty 4 tries before he won a Cup in Detroit. Bab's is currently on try 2.

That, and I noticed he miss a few good chances. Sammy's been playing fine, and Bertuzzi's here to add size and strength. Hudler sits.

What I hate is when games start at 10:00pm EST. West coast games, when it involves teams from the EST zone, should start at 6:00 PCT.

I like day games a lot! Sometimes big games, it's to hard on the nerves waiting until 7:00 for the puck to drop. It's good to know the result before 5:30, and if it goes to OT it's not a big deal. Another reason why I like day games, it allows you to hang out with your friends at night. I think it's win win when you can watch a game in the afternoon, then hang out at night.

I've thought the same thing. I'm sure the Pistons have something to do with it as well.

Since the NHL allows 16 teams in the playoffs, I think the League should look into calling an "Illegal Defence" or "To Many People in the Neutral Zone", like the NBA does. A lot of the reasons why the NHL has problems with national TV ratings is that the final 2 rounds in the playoffs are sooooo slow. Usually we're left with atleast one team that traps in the Final, sometimes both teams (2003). For marketing and excitment purposes, the League should find ways, other than calling more penalties, to speed up the game and allow their best teams to be fighting for a Championship.

Bab's isn't going anywhere. SJ's an excellent team, and the series could go either way. I wouldn't fire Bab's if we lose to the Sharks. We have a good shot at a Championship, but I think people need to realize this isn't the same team we had from 1995-2002. Unless we get a couple breaks, SJ and Anaheim are better playoff teams than we are. We could realistically be a few seasons away from a Stanley Cup. Other teams have gone past us as the best in the League. I for one, will see this season as a success even if we go out 2nd Round. It was big step in my mind eliminating Calgary, the way we did, by showing a lot of grit and determination. It's something to build on for 2007-08. I by no means am writing off the SJ series at all, but I was impressed with how big their players are, and, watching them, wasn't surprised they made quick work of Nashville. We're going to have problems getting some decent shots on net.

This series could go either way. I don't think it'll be a huge shock if SJ wins.

Go Dallas. I ATLEAST want to see us go to the Conference Finals. If we face Dallas, we have a better chance to make it to round 3 than if we faced San Jose. Plus I like to see Canadian teams lose . Whenever the Leafs get eliminated, all my friends who are Leaf fans jump on another Canadian team's bandwagon. Yes, some have given me a hard time when Calgary and Edmonton eliminated us the last two playoffs, like they were fans of those teams all along. I'm the first to say my friends and most Leaf fans are idiots !

I wasn't a "Doom and Gloomer", but I was very disapointed after Game 4 and very nerous before Game 5. I almost didn't watch Game 5 because of the past two Game 5's at home. Obviously I'm very happy I did , what a game!! With our recent playoff history, you can't blame Wings fans for being upset about Games 3 + 4.

It's good to see a team that could only generate 18 shots on net in over 4 periods eliminated. All the teams that just hang on and ride their goalie are out ! Now we can get down to some excellent action with the next 3 rounds. 2004 is now history. We beat Calgary in their own building, the same way they beat us, in OT. Revenge is sweet . I wonder if I woke up my neighbours yelling "Yea.... Yea.... Yeaaaaaa!" .
-
What are the shots? 52-18? Man, I'm so sick of these teams that can't generate and offence, just ride out their goalie, and wait for a team that ACTUALLY tries to take chances, to turn the puck over. Even if they make it past a few rounds, they run out of gas i.e. Buffalo 1999, Carolina 2002, Anaheim 2003, Calgary 2004, Edmonton 2006. To keep the playoffs exciting this year...... FINISH THEIR SORRY ASSES OFF WINGS!!
